There is some mystery around the Fourth something in Guru Granth Sahib
Chauthe Vasa
It says that God resides in the Fourth, not the first three. I have been perplexed over this for some time. Yesterday I stumbled upon a website and was so relieved to know that the counting to do with the level of Consciousness.
Five classical "states" of awareness are discussed in Hindu scripture are:
1) wakefulness (jagrat),
2) "dream" (svapna) or astral consciousness,
3) "deep sleep" (sushupti) or subsuperconsciousness,
4) the super conscious state beyond (turiya "fourth") and
5) the utterly transcendent state called turiyatita ("beyond the fourth").
Source: http://www.experiencefestival.com/turiya
The first three states of awareness are ordinary - waking, dreaming, and dreamless sleep.
Nanak Chauthe Pad Mai So Jan Gat Pahe
Nanak says that in the fourth, the state of pure consciousness, free from material influence, the witnessing consciousness, one finds salvation (hope its the right word to explain Gat).
The self is independent of the body and mind but stays under the influence of Rajo, Tamo and Sato gunas in the first three states. The three Gunas have been translated as - Raajas (passion), Taamas (ignorance) and Saatav (goodness)and are part of what is called MAYA in the Source: http://www.gurbani.org/articles/webart299.htm
While awake a lot of the time we are under the influence of Rajo guna (Passion) as we do things that we are passionate about. In the dream state, we are under the influence of Sato Guna (Goodness) I believe, as we are less hostile in this state and seek peace, and in deep sleep we are ignorant (Tamo), as we are not aware of anything.
To reach the pure consciousness, I assume the physical and mental realms have to shut down as these realms produce the three gunas - Goodness, Passion and Ignorance which are MAYA that stops us from reaching and knowing God. Outside these realms the self would continue to exist and will be connected to the higher consciousness/ The God.
I believe the goal of meditation is to shut down the physical realm by sitting in one spot and mental realm by chanting one word to stop the mind from self-talk and observing the breath to get into the witnessing consciousness and experience the Fourth state.
Raj gun tam gun sat gun kaheeai ih teri sabh maya. Chauthe pad kau jo nar cheenai tin hee param pad paaiaa ||2||: (O Lord) Raajas, Taamas, and Saatav modes are the creations of Your Maya. The man who realizes the Fourth State; he alone obtains the Supreme Status ||2|| (sggs 1123).
Trai guna Maya moh pasaaraa sabh vartai aakaaree. Turiya Guna sat sangat paayeeai nadree paari utaaree ||2||: Attachment to the three-phased show of Maya pervades the world of objects. In the company of Sat (Truth), Turiya, the State of Supreme Awareness is attained; (Whosoever attains this Turiya Avasthaa) the merciful (God) carries (that person) across (from the world-ocean: ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ) ||2|| (sggs 1260).

The people who can stay connected to the higher consciousness / The God while walking around are the rare enlightened beings and are beyond the fourth state.

Truth behind symbolism and imagery of 'Tree of Knowledge' and 'Original sin'
This morning I had hard time trying to convince fellow Sikh guys how the 'Tree of knowledge and Original Sin' mentioned in the Bible has symoblism and imagery used in it to represent concepts that are not easily understood by people. They have just started reading Bible out of curosity to know more about Christianity.
The concept of serpent who excited the Eve to eat the forbidden fruit is actually symbolic of the Kundalini energy within a person. When the Kundalini energy awakens in the lower two chakras, it awakens sexual feelings. The same energy when enters the higher chakras gives the results coresponding to those chakras. Last year I awakened my Kundalini, so I know that this energy literally makes hissing sound when awakened.
This serpent like kundalini energy created the desire to enjoy the body and took the attention away from God, the creator who was sustaining them with his Love.
When the soul has no desires, it stays in blissful state, connected with God's energy and therefore does not require any physical food. In meditation, one receives the Pranic energy from 'The Great White Light' and it fills the body with joy and bliss. While you are showering in this energy, you don't need any other source of survival like the food.
I am so relieved that other people also realise this truth. In the theory of Kundalini Yoga, as mentioned in the article on "Fall of man' on the site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fall_Of_Man, about author William Irwin Thompson who attributes the story of the fall to the time when human beings first understood that sex led to pregnancy, and understood what menstruation was. In "The time falling bodies take to light", Thompson theorizes that Eve's kundalini awakened, leading her to understand sexuality and human power and intelligence. In Sanskrit, "kundalini" means "curled up like a serpent"[19] .
The article Tree of Jiva and Atman in wikipedia tries to explain similar concept, "The first bird represents a Jiva, or individual self, or soul. She has a female nature, being a sakti, an energy of God. When the jiva becomes distracted by the fruits (signifying sensual pleasure), she momentarily forgets her lord and lover and tries to enjoy the fruit independently of him. This separating forgetfulness is maha-maya, or enthrallment, spiritual death, and constitutes the fall of the jiva into the world of material birth, death, disease and old age.
The second bird is the Paramatman, an aspect of God who accompanies every living being in the heart while she remains in the material world. He is the support of all beings and is beyond sensual pleasure.
It is significant to note that this concept of Atman and Jiva have been personified and taken into the Bible."
Guru Nanak says that we are all Eve's and there is only one Man - The God. This concept fits in with the above story as it says that Adam / second bird - Parmataman was not tempted by this fruit. The only issue unresolved then is why the story is saying that Man was made from the Soil. Has someone bent the story at some time? The eve was produced from the one bone of the Man, in my opinion stands for Humanbeings being produced from one part of God / The only MAN, going by Guru Nanak's definition of the MAN.
Another important aspect of the story is that after committing the original sin the couple was expelled from the Garden of Eden and were told that they will have to produce their own food by hardwork. So regular people now have to work to eat and survive. But those connected with the God / creator can still sustained without food. This concept is called Amritpan. In meditation, when one places their tongue touching the pallet and observes breathing, and raises energy inside the body from below to above, a honey like nector is produced from the pallet. For as long as you are able to produce this nector and stay in that state, you don't need any food to survive.
The Gurbani lines and translation below about Amrit are taken from the site http://www.gurbani.org/articles/webart325.html
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਬਦੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਪੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸਭ ਭੁਖ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੮॥੧੫॥੧੬॥: The Shabad is Amrit; the Lord's Bani is Amrit. Serving the True Guru, it (Amrit) permeates the heart. O Nanak! Amrit-Naam is forever the Giver of Peace (ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ); drinking in this Amrit (of Naam - the Lord's Name), all hunger (of Maya) is satisfied. ||8||15||16|| (sggs 119).
: Amrit meethaa sabad veechaar || Anadin bhoge houmai maar ||: Reflective meditation upon the Shabad is Amrit. By subduing his ego, one enjoys it night and day (sggs 424).
: Amrit Naam peevahu mere bhaaee. Simar simar sabh tikhaa bujhaaee ||1||Rahaou||: O brother! Drink in the Amrit Naam (the Name of the Lord). Meditating, meditating (ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ, on the Name of the Lord), the fire (of Bikaars) is totally quenched. ||1||Pause|| (sggs 191).
Also, you do not age while in this state.
Gurbani says - Har har Naam Japandyan Kach Na Kahai Jam Kaal
There are stories of Hindu Rishies who lived and meditated in samadhi state for thousands of years. How did they survive without food or the need to empty their bowl for years?
Lord Krishna (Hinduism) compared human body to an upside down tree and Kabbalah (German) philosophy also talks of 'Tree of Life' and Ten Gates. Sikhism also talks of Dasam Dwar, the Tenth Gate. All these concepts are related to the esoteric knowledge of human body.
Guru Granth Sahib provides a lot of hints about the mystical experiences. To understand what the poet is saying, one must either have basic understanding of the concepts of esotericism or better still have had some experiences during menditation. Its almost impossible to understand mystical experiences without having one as they make no logical sense to those who haven't experienced anything similar. No surprise that such people are then considered insane by others.
Some of the lines in the Guru Granth Sahib that most people don't understand the meaning of because of lack of practicing meditation, offcourse in my opinion, are as follows
Ik Vast Agochar Laheai
Sass Ghar Soor
Amrit Piyo Sada Chir Jeyo
Har Amritpan Karo
Nanak Chauthe Pad Mai, So Jan Gat Pahe
Jivan Mukat So Akhiyai, Mar Jevai Mariya
Asa Mahe Niras Valai
Below is a site of books on esoteric knowledge. I haven't read any of these yet. As Gurbani says only a few people know about these concepts - Virle Kine Vichari?
http://www.sacred-texts.com/eso/index.htm
Below are some of the Gurbani lines to ponder
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਿਸੁ ਉਦਰੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਾਇਆ ॥: Kahi kabeer jis udar tis Maya:
Says Kabeer, whoever has a belly to fill (need to eat food to survive), is under the spell of Maya [Raajas (Passion), Taamas (Ignorance), and Saatav (Goodness) modes] (sggs 1160).
In short, whatever deludes a person away from his godly status (Joti-Svaroopa, Pure Consciousness etc.) is Maya for him.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕਵਲਾ ਦਾਸਿ ॥: Jaa kai simaran kavalaa daas:
Meditating on God, Maya becomes one's slave (sggs 986).
Wasn't it the change of focus of consciounesses from staying under the protection of God's Love to focusing on one's desires that made the couple expelled from the Garden of Eden?

Dakhani Onkar
Guru Nanak's biggest message was to meditate on God's name. Dakhni Onkar Path gives this message clearly. You can hear this Path on the site below.
Or read the complete Path with translation on the site below href="http://http://www.srigranth.org/servlet/gurbani.gurbani?Action=Page&Param=930&g=1&h=0&r=1&t=1&p=0&k=0">
Below are some quotes by Guru Nanak in Ramkali Raag from Dakhni Onkar.
O▫ankār barahmā uṯpaṯ.
From Ongkaar, the One Universal Creator God, Brahma was created.
Samjẖai sūjẖai paṛ paṛ būjẖai anṯ niranṯar sācẖā.
If one understands, realizes and comprehends what he reads and studies, in the end he shall realize that the True Lord dwells deep within his nucleus.
Saach Shabad Bin Mukat Na Koi, Nanak sada Rajai
Teen Bhavan, Ek Jyoti
Saach Vakhar Ke Hum Vapari
Bikhya Amrit Ek Hai, (Gurmukh boojhe Koi?)
So Parhya, So Pandit Bina, Jis Ram Naam Gal Haar
Kharach Khara Sach Dyan Tu, Aape vase Sareer
Har Parhna, Har Bujhna, Har siyon Rakhyo Dhyan
Har Jape, Har Dhyaye, Har Ka Naam Adhaar
Lekh Na Mitayi He Sakhi, Jo Likya Kartar
Ape Karan Jin Kiya, Kar Kirpa Pag Dhar
Karte Hath Vadyaiyan, Boojho Gur Bichar
Likhya Fer Na Sakiyai, jiyon Bhavi Tiyon Saar
Jo Deesai So Chalasi, Kisko Meet Kareo
Jo Purakh Nadar Na Awai, Tiska Chakar Kahiya Jai
Balihari Gur Aapne, Jin Hirde Diya Dikhai
Bidya Sodhe Tat Lahe, Ram Naam Liv Laye
Murakh Shabad Na Cheenaii, Soojh Boojh Na Kai
Naam Samalo, Naam Sangraho, Laha Jag Mai Le.

Seek and you shall find
Whatever you devote your time and attention to, that's what you will become expert at. I was chatting with a singer / composer. He commented that whenever he has composed a great shabad is when he has been playing with his instrument for a couple of hours and then suddenly or should I say accidentally a tune will come in mind. I can relate to this. This has happened to me as well, in music as well as in understanding Gurbani (Sikh scriptures). So life is not about speculating if you will get this or that. Its about deciding what you want and devoting time to it.
Since I was in primary school, I have been listening to old Hindi Bollywood movie songs - classical Raaga based - songs, bhajans and qawalis. I use to spend hours listening to these songs repeatedly. My interest changed and from last couple of years I read Guru Granth Sahib shabads with great interest as I realised that the meanings of those shabads are not as simple as I though or sometimes too literal rather than philosophical, as mistakenly explained and translated in the sources. Great understanding comes when I suddenly stumble upon a line and understand the true intention of the writer in that shabad. Then I feel so sorry that even people like ragas and granthis don't understand the very scriptures they are suppose to be expert at.
The real understanding can only come if you immerse yourself in meditation. Once you start to have some experiences in meditation and generate the 24 /7 urgency to know more about and meet God than simply fulfil your duty of reading daily prayer etc, you have upgraded your mentality from just passing exams to actually knowing the truth. If you are seeking truth about God / the creator, you will be sincere in your meditation as well as in reading the gurbani. Some shabads in gurbani are related to meditation experiences and those shabads can't be understood until you have started your own meditation and started having experiences. So if you are a true seeker, do meditate and then read any scriptures.
Strangely enough, I forced myself to listen to some of the famous old hindi songs that I use to immerse myself in, they are great tunes, great words and I loved them again but listening first time after years didn't automatically gave me the same pleasure that I use to get when I heard them everyday. The feeling that use to be inside and the energy vibration as each instrument vibrated within a composition, that rhythmic pleasure can only come, if you truly immerse yourself into something, not like when I was listening to them superficially, to give some good songs to a particular person to listen. How true is it for spirituality as well.
One must ask themselves, why I go to a religious place?
To seek the the real truth for myself,
To promote my religion as the best / better than other religions
To show others that I am devoted (assuming that religious people are better than less devoted ones) , or
To do Sunday socialising activity?
Do you immerse yourself in deeper listening to seek the truth and have real understanding? . Give it a thought and please leave your comments

Life is a holiday, you must go home afterwards
Life is a holiday. You can choose any holiday destination but you have limited days off and limited funds.
There is nothing right and wrong about any particular holiday destination or how you choose to enjoy your stay, as long as you remember that you have a job to go back to and responsibilities. There is nothing wrong with choosing the serene beaches around Woolgoolga, the theme parks of Gold Coast or Melbourne city as long as you are happy with that particular adventure.
Similarly, this life is for you to enjoy while it is there as long as you remember that eventually it must end and you must go back and report to your employer / creator / the God. There is no point in panicking about the holiday finishing soon and loosing your chance to be creative. Relax, its your time. You can do whatever you like or choose to try. Thats why in the "Notes from the universe" the author says "I am with you, but you must decide." Its you who is making the choices whenever there is a decision to make, to give shape to your dreams. God is with you helping you along. If you chose to stay and enjoy a beach setting or go Ice Skating thats Ok with God. Neither is better or worse, as long as you are happy and don't hurt others while enjoying yourself. So don't be afraid of making bold choices and never be guilty of enjoying it too much. That is what a holiday is about.
You have a responsibility though to make sure that while you are on holiday, your bills are being paid for the holiday and back at home. If you are a helpful kind of personality, even during your holiday, you will find someone to help. If you are a businessman, you will naturally be keeping an eye on making contacts to expand your business. We simply don't give up our work altogether or or personality traits while on holidays. We look for like minded people and enjoy their company. On the other hand we also look for people who do something totally different and do it well. We like to find more about how they do it and want to follow such people.
Same goes in religion. No matter what religion we belong to, we don't give-up our natural traits - anger, greed, lust, attachment and ego. We all look for people who are better at managing these problems and want to follow them. We aren't impressed by the preachers, we like to see 'how to' do something in action, that's the way we learn. So if you are thinking of preaching your religion to your kids, forget it. They will only do what you do. They have been watching you since birth. So don't be a hypocrite, it won't work in your favour.
The only way I have found to manage my natural traits is by knowing myself. I think Jesus said, "Know Thyself". To know myself, I need time with myself. Meditation is the best time to know myself - my feeling and my body. Knowing your body helps understand your feelings.
So sit in a comfortable posture and close your eyes.
Watch your breath. Observe how you are breathing. Is it rapid or slow, shallow or deep, light or heavy?
Did you note that you have a big white vertical tunnel going right through the middle of the body?
Try travelling up and down in this tunnel with each breath. Its a great game.
Nobody told you that inside your body is a big playground with unlimited space, did they?
Now you know, and now the adventure begins.
Want to know more? Read Saint Kabir's Bani in the Guru Granth Sahib to understand the mystery of your own body.

Emotion is the switch to God and DNA healing
Sick people generally wonder why they are one to get a chronic illness. I have always believed that we choose our own diseases by virtue of the emotions we hold in our body. Happy and loving emotions bring good health and long life and negative mentions bring illness.
Gregg Braden has explained how this happens in his audio book 'Beyond point zero'. He says that emotions we hold in our body create pressure in the body that determines which DNA cells are activated. Since positive emotions have higher vibrational frequency, positive emotions unlock more complex DNA. To turn on all DNA codes we need to have pressure on maximum number of pressure points. Compassion, he believes, touches most vibrational push points.
Greg further explains the difference between Emotion, Feeling and Thought. He says that Thought is the guidance system, Emotion is the the power system that moves the patterns of energy within the body and together Thought and Emotion create Feeling. He says that there is unique chemistry to carry each emotion. So what emotions you carry? How it might be affecting your body and mind?
Following website claims, "The one mystical key to unlocking your full potential is your vibrational energy. Every thought, every emotion, every belief transmits a measurable vibrational frequency. Clarity vibrates at the highest frequency."
http://www.chakramagic.com/solar_plexus.htm
Greg says that heart is the transformer made of seven layers of liquid crystal that perceives and sends the signal to brain. This is a great explanation. Most people believe that its the brain that sends the message to the heart and then the heart feels. Greg is right in saying that its the heart that perceives before the brain takes charge of the situation. You might have seen in drastic situations that you feel the emotion first and then ask yourself to pull your head together to handle the situation. Greg says, "Logic must be tempered with wisdom from the heart."
Gregg fosters compassion and suggests 3 codes of blessing, the positive, the negative and the witness (yourself). He asks us to bless three types of people - one's that are suffering, for they created the feeling of compassion in you. Secondly, those who perpetrated the crimes of making others suffer, for they were a part of that act which created compassion in you. Even though you don't condone what they did as right, you must acknowledge that they played a part in that event that created the feeling of compassion. Greg says, "Don't respond in polarity. Bless that which hurt you deeply. Acknowledge them even though you don't understand at this point why this happened. This is a blessing as it helps us change how we feel about it, to allow us to move forward and become available to love." Thirdly, you must thank yourself, the witness, for witnessing this event. He says, "witness without judgement, feeling without distortion and emotion without charge ..."

Guru Nanak says 'Gobind Bhao Bhagat Ka Bhukha' God is hungry for Loving devotion. All his life Guru Nanak spread the message to not worry about the nitty gritty of Yoga practices etc, rather focus on loving God and his creation by meditating on his name, singing his praises and on sharing your honest earnings with the needy and by doing good work for the community as God resides within his creation as well as outside it.
Guru Nanak also asks us to not judge others as 'Na ko Moorakh, Na ko Syana' - nobody is clever and nobody is a fool. 'Jit Ko Laya Tit Hi Laga' each person is only engaged in whatever he/ she has been made to engage in.
Guru Nanak is considered the prophet of the heart for he believes that the heart is the central point that helps you meet God.
As they say, "Ask and it must be revealed". In one meditation session, I was desperate (Emotion) to meet God and see what Guru Nanak saw that made him utter the word 'WAHEGURU' - Indescribable teacher / master. In this session, Guru Nanak revealed himself and then showed me God himself in my third eye. Straight from the God's eye two rays reflected to my heart centre where a lotus blossomed. The feeling of emmence love that I felt during this experience lasted months. During this time, I couldn't see anyone as a bad person. I loved everyone trully from the heart, no matter if it was a stranger, a person I previously hated or the loved ones. I trully loved them all without judgement. That was all not by virtue of my goodness, but a result of a powerful meditation experience that generated this feeling. I use to the first person to judge others and was quite proud of this skill. I no longer judge people as good or bad. I accept that they are here to fulfil a purpose and if they have hurt me, then I have a lesson to learn. They have their own lessons to learn that I don't need to worry about. For a person like me who had extreme difficulty forgiving people, its so easy now because of the understanding of how it works and the positive consequesces of forgiving others for my own health and spiritual growth. I do get upset with people but soon as I realise what I am doing to myself, I consciously forgive people for their actions saying "only if they knew a better way to deal with the situation, they would." I also bless them and myself that may God give us understanding.

Experiences and visions before death
I have been in New Zealand since 27th June, 2010 to attend a funeral of a beloved relative. During my stay I asked close relatives how she felt a few days before she passed away. I was amazed to hear some of the things relatives told me.
This relative was prepared for death as she had breast cancer for nearly five years before the cancer spread to the liver. Three months before she died, the doctors had told her to tidy up her affairs as she might go. She use to console her relatives by saying, "My job here has finished and God has other work for me somewhere else." She also use to say "I have come to this place to grow and learn lessons. Some people take a lifetime to learn those lessons and still don't learn them. Others come for a short time and learn many things." She also said, "Everybody's journey is different. In my journey, with my health problem, I have come to learn a lesson and people might see me as suffering but even in that there is a blessing. When I look around me I see people who are going through much more than myself. Life is for the living so enjoy it."
She had asked her mother, "Who are you?" The mother thought my daughter is under the influence of morphine and doesn't know what she is saying. Then the daughter said, "Mum you are a light, part of a bigger light. We are like candle lights, you can make many out of one but in the end they all one again."
On the 20th June, the mother and daughter were sitting in the room. They saw a fantail bird was flying around near the front door of the house. Fantails don't usually come that close to the house but Maori people believe that if a fantail comes inside the house, someone is going to die.
On the afternoon of 22nd of June, She saw someone standing outside the room that no one else saw. Looking outside towards the front door, she said at 6 pm approx., "They are standing outstanding." They have come to get me but I am not ready to go. She was waiting for her partner to come back from India and didn't want to go while he was away. "Where", asked mum. Mum, you won't see them. Mum asked, "What do they look like?" She replied, "They have white clothes on." She said, "I am not going. I am not ready to go."
On the 23rd June, she was sitting on the sofa and looked out the window at around 7pm and she said, "Mum they are out there. They are still waiting for me. They are not going away and I don't want to go."
A couple of hours after she took out her two rings that were of sentimental value to her and gave them to her daughter and said, "I don't need them anymore." They were the only pieces of jewellery on her body.
On the 24th June, she was not herself. She stayed very quite and kept doing things that they normally do. She wasn't asking for food etc. She was in a lot of pain, had morphine pump. She died on the 25th June at 7am.
The first night I slept in the house of the relative who died, I felt very uncomfortable and cold feeling in this particular room. Then I saw a vision of a man with a turban but I couldn't see the features of his face as it was so dark black. I felt the black was representing the dark feelings and actions of this personality, who was watching me from approx five meter distance, as if to judge me or hurt me but he couldn't. I told my relatives what I felt and suggested that they organise reciting of the Guru Granth Sahib ji at there house, in that room to dispell the bad energy of the being that I saw. They agreed and the very next day we started Akhand Path of Guru Granth Sahib.
My relative that died also use to say the similar things, so they didn't find it hard to believe me. After starting the Path, I mentioned this particular dark energy to another family friend that I met at their house, who they said is someone who knows healing and understands spiritual concepts. He told me that such energies also want light but don't know how and we can help them by inviting them to listen to the Path and help heal themselves.
When it was this guys turn from 2am - 4am, he invited this energy and asked him to bring along his friends that are with him, so they can also benefit from listening to the Guru Granth Sahibs reciting of the Path. I woke up at 2.45 am, had my shower and went to this room, did my Nitnem and then started listening to the Path and continued doing so till 4.45 am before I started reading it myself as it was my turn from 5am - 6am. Sometime while listening, I felt like meditating. Since I couldn't speak as the Path was happening, I started breathing loud and listening to that breath, hoping soon I will have Surat / Dhyana inwards and will be able to do silent meditation. I had only started doing this for less than 2 minutes that I had this vision that some fat fair skinned, flatish nose New Zealand Native guy was sitting right next to the Guru Granth Sahib. He turned around and gave me a look as if my loud breathing was disturbing him from listening to the Path and he was offended with me. I immediately stopped the meditation and started listening to the Path. Later on I shared my experience with this Pal guy I mentioned above, I was so surprised when he added that there was someone between you and me, while I was doing the path. He further said that there was a whole tribe of them listening to the Path.
On the third day of the Akhand Path Pal came up to me to say that the particular energy we were talking about first finally disolved at the very last minute of the Path. The first day he invited him, he said that it was reducing in size every minute it was listening to the Path. I never knew Akhand Path has so much energy to relieve so many energies in one go. I liked Pal's explaination that this is the reason that we should always do Path out loud, so we can bring that energy into the physical world. We never know who might listen and benefit from it. I wish people at my gurdwara understand this concept. I like listening to Path or Kirtan while close my eyes and meditate. It helps get into deep meditation quicker and also generates Birha / yearning. Since I live so close to the Gurdwara, I like going there in the early hours of the morning to listen to the Akhand Path or late at night but everytime I come home disappointed as the pathis don't recite loud enough and don't turn on the mic either. They are worried about finishing the Path on time and doing the right amount of pages in an hour to catch up, instead of worrying about listening to what is being read and who is there so eager to listen. On the other hand, the sewadars in my Gurdwara, who do the duty of being in the Gurdwara during the Path are a nusense as they keep talking about the people in the community and disturb me with the noise of their chitter-chatter. They also look at me and wonder why I am in the temple as if I should only listen to the path when the regular sangat comes from 5 -7 pm for dinner. I am not interested in the dinner or the social gathering, I want to hear my Guru's word and be one with the feeling of meeting Waheguru. Why do they stare at me for being with my Guru? Tears!!!!!!!!!!!!!
