Change is normal then why resist it?

Everyday sun rises from the east, sets in the west. This routine hasn't changed from as long as humans can recall. It's also true that each day it rises from a slightly different angle and the change can be noticed if you mark the winter and summer position of sunrise at a particular place. So miner changes are expected and accepted without fear. It's only when people like Inuit elders say that their sky has changed and scientists say that earths figure axis has shifted, i.e. the poles have shifted that we realise that a big change has happened and those affected will have to adjust their lifestyle to new environment and its threats and turn them into opportunities.
This goes for religions as well. The esoteric philosophy of all religions has a common base, the spirituality, focus on breathing, mindfulness, compassion, unconditional love, focus on inner self etc etc. Each religious chapter was written in a different time period to suit the needs of that time and to address the existing issues of society. Therefore, the language and the culture of the time had a role to play which is evident from the rules of a particular religious game.
The personality that introduces change after going on a journey of self-discovery and after powerful awakening that bestows psychic and magical powers on the individual is able to bring a bigger reform in the existing society than those who merely introduce new vocabulary to describe the same stuff and try to rename a religion but end up being a sect of the same religion.
Every religion became a money making venture at some point for some individuals. As a religion spreads, so do the vices in it because people slowly moulded the base of the religion to suit themselves and changed the rules slowly. Then more people joined them, to exploit that market. So essentially there are spiritual people, religious people and entrepreneurs. May be we all have those tendencies but some gravitate more towards one side at a particular time.
So there is a pattern in religious growth, just like the four seasons in a year. The real change like the polar shift happens once in a lifetime that brings personal inner growth as well as enough changes to warrant a new religion. Rest assured that the new religion will also change some people's lives and will give business opportunities to the others. It's up to you to decide what phase are you in and what kind of change are you seeking and gravitating towards - spiritual, religious or business?

Devta - Gods and Kartapurakh

There are beggers and there are devtas. One takes and the other gives. Are you a begger or a Devta?
The word Devta means the one who gives. The dev and Devi words came from devtas to indicate the gender of the Devta; male being the Devta or dev for short or female being the Devi
Devtas live in heaven as per Hindu philosophy but are expelled from it as soon as they have a desire to satisfy themselves, as the desire makes them a begger. There are several stories of devas being sent to earth when they looked at another with lust.
Christianity also talks of Adam and Eve who were happy in the garden of Eden but the moment they experienced hunger to satisfy themselves and they took the apple to eat, (not to give away to another); they are sent to earth.
Guru Nanak in his explanation of God, talks of Karta Purakh, nirbhao, nirvair. The direct translation of the purakh is the being and Karta is the doer that takes action, nirbhao is an adjective to explain the acts of Kartapurakh that are done without fear. Only the one that is not entangled in his own insecurities and desires can help others without attachment and fear. Nirvair is also an adjective to explain that the beings actions are not motivated by animosity.
Guru Nanak is known as Guru Nanak Dev possibly because he was a giver. His life stories reveal him  as someone that people turned to when all else failed and he performed miracles not to benefit himself or his family but humanity.
Who are you? What are you chasing each day? What do you desire the most in life? Your dreams reveal all that each night. Before going to sleep remind yourself to remember every dream. When you are asleep and are in the middle of a dream, try to understand the symbolic meaning of it. Keep a diary beside your bed and wake up and write the dream down as soon as you become aware of it. Soon you will know if you are seeking more material things for yourself or engaged in appreciating what is and helping others and giving.

Guru Nanak's Moolmantra and the true self

Guru Nanak was a true wizard with lots of magical and psychic powers and yet the one that preached to not get involved in using them as they power the ego. He was a great social reformer who believed in the equality of man and woman and of all social classes. In his view, a person is better or worse not by his wealth or knowledge but the way we treat other beings. He believed in honest living and sharing of profits. In his ideal world all one needed to do was to produce food and basic necessity items, share them equally and meditate on God. He believed that music transcends anyone much easier than breath control techniques but also emphasised on chanting a word with the feeling of love and gratitude. This way to God is through the heart, the feeling centre. Guru Nanak described God in a few words -

Ik O Ang Kaar - one part of my being
Satnaam - that is truth
Karta purakh - that creates
Nirbhau - one that is without fear
Nirvair - without enimosity
Akaal Murat - that never dies
Ajuni - and never takes birth
Saibhang - forever continues and is self existent
Gur parsaad - is known with the grace of a spiritual master / inner guide.

Nanak further says

Jap - continuously remember / chant

Aad sach - the primal truth
Jugad Sach - will be true in the future
Hai Bhai sach - is the truth at present
Nanak Hosi Bhi Sach - O Nanak, will stay the truth.

In Nanak's view, there is a truth within us that has no enemies or fear, so it doesn't take sides and can't be set aside while we count our profits and rip others off a comfortable living standard. The truth within us is watching every injustice we commit in the name of looking after our family, improving our lot and whatever other notion we have created in the name of a capitalist economy. This primal truth is going to be with us forever, long after we have shed this body that we cherish and try to give all the luxuries and comforts to. This body is not going to thank us for all that we did to protect it, but a part of us that is truth and the one that creates bodies, life forms with a mere desire, and the one that seeks justice is the one we need to satisfy and answer to. That truth within us is the only master we need to serve.

Changing lives - healing to create life and prevent death

Even thought I was given healing light in one of my meditations and later I went to learn reiki when I started feeing energy move in my body everytime I saw Reiki symbols; I prefer not to do healing, not even to my children when they are sick. The reason being that I start feeling the pain of the patient in my body for days after the healing. I was told that may be I unknowingly use The method of healing in which one takes on another's disease and then processes it in her own body. This person laughed at me and said, off course the other person will get better when you take it on. I have been told to use protection before healing session, so I don't get affected but I always skip this step.

Recently I found out that one of my colleagues sister is dying of cancer. He himself is a Reiki master and has given healing to her many times and saved her for years. Two months ago he was called to say goodbye to her which he wasn't prepared to do. He saved her once more and came back to work happy. This time I had sent healing to her and noticed that she is angry at something that happened in her childhood years. According to her brother, she is angry that her mother never loved her. This mother had eleven children and the people mentioned are the last two children. Weather the mother had time to love the children or not is besides the point when one is close to sixty years of age. The point is that the patient needs to forgive her mother for not giving her the amount of attention this child wanted but she can't seem to forgive her mother. I tried so hard to unpack her bags but there was one item left in her bag last time and I heard the words, " she would be saved in time". I never understood what does that mean? Why did she have three flowers in her hair when I saw her as a little girl?
Last week when I went to work, I found out that he has gone to say final goodbye to her. I felt sad for him. Then I caught very bad viral infection, apparently the the real influenza and was very sick for days. On the third day of sickness, I was so weak that everytime I tried to close my eyes for meditation, I immediately started seeing the purple swirl in the third eye. The moon was also about to go full in a day or two. I decided that I should utilise this time to do meditation and try to pray for someone who is desperate for a child but can't fall pregnant for years due to some cyst on the overy.

While in meditation, my attention kept going back to my colleagues dying sister, so instead I tried to send her some healing and unpack her bag fully this time. I took every single item from her handbag out and even tried to tear its insides to see if the was anything hidden that wasn't taken out. At that I felt that may be I shouldn't have done that. It felt like I didn't have the permission to stop her, so I mentioned my colleagues name and said that I am trying to heal his sister, so the connection is known and energy gets accepted. To my surprise she suddenly put on her glamorous red dress with embroidery, and hair done like a bride, took her little six year old self with her waving goodbye, ruining all my efforts to save her. I was shocked how suddenly she changed her mind just minutes after she had accepted the energy as if that was the most powerful thing she could do to get attention. I changed the colour of her dress and tried a few things but felt that she is determined to keep going back to her path of anger and that's why nobody can save her. It might take her a few lifetimes to learn to forgive.
I felt sad that I wasted my time and energy on someone determined to die for the sake of attention instead of doing something for someone who is praying for a child everyday. Why am I not helping them even when my mother had asked for help indirectly? I believe God is wiser and our efforts never bring desired results. Whatever God does is for a good reason but who was I to think that they should think of adopting a child instead of having their own, risking the month era life who has a cyst on the overy and can't fall pregnant. I have been asked, so I should try to help I thought and started praying for them. I was told that it would take six months for the cyst to go away, another 6-8 months for the girl to fall pregnant naturally and then 9 months for the baby to come, so it will all happen in the next 24 months. I was worried if the mother would survive after the birth. Upon asking, I saw her doing the child's hair when he was 3-4 years old. Then I asked what kind of a person this child would be? He seemed like a strong built warrior type. I didn't feel comfortable about the warrior thing, why would he need to be a warrior to spread his religion in the South India? So I asked, is that a good thing that he will be born altering the God's Will? Would the child have a good life? I heard the words 'ahankare marna' meaning will die because of ego.
----------
Warrior is a person who acts even in the face of fear, nothing to do with a war of weapons. Funny how I had to read this book which mentioned fear and warriors tonight. I love the universe, it always answers the questions, except sometimes I don't understand. Fear dissolves with conscious action and focuses on now. Read page 77 onwards and the next chapter is on anger. The book is Mystic secrets revealed by Edwin Harkness Spina. Two healthy responses to anger which is caused by unmet expectations is to act or accept reality. I can't believe the next chapter 'take back your power' is answering my question about my self doubt on weather it's right to heal and attempt to alter the course of life. I do listen to my inner master and that's the only time I heal and create, as per the direction from the higher self.

Attempts to dismantle Sikh faith?

Was it his left over energy that told me the truth? I know everytime an awaited visitor comes, I generally feel their energy. I have had episodes where I play the most beautiful tunes and sing like a pro for a couple of days or feel like meditating and I outperform my natural self and time and time again I have found that it wasn't my energy, I was feeling someone else's energy as I can no longer sustain that calibre.
I am writing this post after having a very strange dream that woke me up at 3.30 am. In the dream, I had some acquaintances who came to my house and were helping me prepare a big meal for some guests. I was glad that they were doing it as if it was their own workload. After the preparation, we decided to go out together. I was thinking of going out for a movie and have some photos taken. I said to this girlfriend who is an actual person that I went school with; that we will post the photos of two of us on facebook for our sisters to see who were college friends themselves. (This particular friend is a Kabir pathi and  I recall her saying that they are Hindu-Punjabi  when I innocently asked her in year two. She is a genuinely nice person. I like her and will always admire her. I believe her appearance was a symbol to help me understand the dream in the right context. I love all Kabir panthis and followers of other Hindu Saints whose bani is written in the Guru Granth Sahib. The following account is as I saw it in the dream.)

Next I saw that we were sitting inside a small temple who's boundary touched the next door Gurdwara. I looked at the very elegant gurdwara building and recognised it as the one I had visited not so long ago.
I shared with the ladies how God works in mysterious ways, "I wanted to visit this Gurdwara during this trip but didn't recall the address and you have brought me to this temple right next door and I am now able to see the gurdwara, I wanted to visit".

I praised the temple people for kindly giving away a small part of the temple land to finish the temple project as they fell short of a few feet.
I praised how the Gurdwara has reciprocated the love by not having a big wall but a very short fence between the two religious buildings, so the temple people could also view the Guru Granth Sahib in the downstairs rest room where three holy scriptures were resting on the Palang / bed and one of those had a shiny red cloth and the other two looked ordinary.

The people in the temple clarified truthfully,"Thats's not a Gurdwara. That building has been named Gurdwara only to attract visitors to generate more income".

I was stunned and then thought back that I had asked the granthi on my last visit, "how come there are so many non-turbaned people employed?" At that the caretaker of the Gurdwara had explained how the temple people had been so kind and the story of when the Gurdwara had fallen short of land, they helped by giving away land to complete the grand project. Now it all made sense to me, why so many non-Sikhs were working in the Gurdwara. I wasn't angry, just surprised.

Next I saw that we were in the yard of this lady whose husband came with a big truck. He drove the truck over an autoriksha sized very ordinary looking old black shell of a car with wheels, no seats inside and couldn't carry very many people. I gathered he was smashing it because now he had the big powerful truck to do the same job. He was making it look like an accident and was destroying the proof that he had ever used the car.
He got out of the truck after a successful third attempt to squash the shell of the car and was removing two decorative pieces so violently that the metal hit his wife's neck and look a big chunk of her skin with it. The wife was working nearby and her hands had mud on them, so she couldn't hold the sore herself. The blood had started to seep out of the skin and was pouring.
Her friend who was next to her wasn't helping much, so I ran to get some piece of cloth. I couldn't find anything big enough to be a bandaid, so I picked up my sons white patka/ head cover. Then I realised her soiled hands also needed cleaning. So I walked up to the hand pump where my mother-in-law was sitting with a friend and had just finished their meal. I asked her in shock, "did you hear what they told me about the Gurdwara? ", grabbing one of the bowls to wash, so I could fill clean water to wash the patients hands.

Next it was dark. I was at the front door of my home and heard my littles child calling me from the other side of the house. I checked the time in the dream and it was 6pm, I was late coming home so his preschool teacher had dropped her outside my house at 5.30pm but he couldn't get in thinking the house was locked. I was feeling guilty and anxious to get in. Where are my house keys? I didn't know. Then remembered that I had locked it from the back door. Just then I noticed that door wasn't properly shut anyway, so I could get in. I wished my child had known this, it would have been much nicer if the poor child could have got inside the house and waited for me, rather than outside in the dark, distressed.

The dream made me wonder why I had such a dream. I couldn't find any connection to any videos I may have watched regarding attack on sikhi. Then I remembered that the High Commissioner of India had visited our town yesterday. So was it his left over energy that told the truth in my dream? Is it actually the case that Indian government has created pretend Sikhs to muddy the sikh traditions and to introduce Hindu ways in sikh homes and gurdwaras? I was asking this question time and time again in my sleep when I started saying,"Jo Gur Kahai, Soi Bhal Mano, Har Har Katha Nirali". The only way forward for Sikhs is to follow the holi scripture Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. I woke up repeating this gurbani line.

First Interpretation - Shell of the car
In hind sight, Guru Gobind Singh ji was very wise for appointing the SGGS as the present guru and stop anyone from diluting the sikh religion.
The new technology has saved the Sikhs as the Guru Granth has been digitised. Then I thought of the Akhand Kirtani Jatha and how they have tried to keep the sikhi pure and then realised why they become the first target of attack and are portraid as terrorists.

Second Insight - 7am same day
I thought about what I had written in the blog and how it can be interpreted as if its written by someone who actually believes in the conspiracy theory about Indian government trying to dilute sikh and get rid of the Khalsa created by Guru Gobind Singh. I have never believed this until this day and had thought that sikhs were paranoid about this.
Then my attention moved to the real life friend that was in the dream, so I clarified in parenthesis how I actually feel about my friend. Next I sent a Facebook message to her asking about the traditions followed by Kabir panthis. Sant Kabir and other saints bani is part of the Guru Granth, so the hindus that follow these saints genuinely believe that Guru Granth is respectable because it upholds their Guru's teachings. So in that sense the temple people do believe that they gave a few feet of their land to the Gurdwara. Do you see the connection? If that is true, then they genuinely do sewa at the Gurdwaras believing it to be their own duty, not to help me. I was representation of sikhs in this dream.

Where do followers of Saints mentioned in Guru Granth Sahib stand in relation to the Gurdwaras?
Sand Kabir and Guru Nanak's teachings are exactly same. Both believe in one formless God and deter people from worshipping the hindu idols and empty religious traditions that don't help you grow spiritually. The main difference I believe  would be that Kabir may not have stipulated that his deciples keep long hair. On the other hand, it is believed that Guru Nanak told Mardana, his first decipel to keep uncut hair; even though there is no indication that Mardana officially changed religion from Muslim to Sikh, Mardana kept long hair under his turban. Their is a misconception that Guru Gobind Singh ji started the tradition of long hair and a turban.
Guru Gobind Singh ji upheld every tradition that was already being preached unto that time. As historians say, Guru Gobind Singh ji gave a clear strong frame to recognise Sikhs. Overtime, people start to do their own thing and still stay loosely connected to the teachings but don't always follow any rules that hinder their fashion statement. Guru Gobind Singhs code can be seen as a problem by Sikhs that wish to follow fashion and also by those who wish to amalgamate Sikhs into hindus for political reasons. So the disagreement issue is not spiritual but political and civil matter.
Even to the extent that fifth Guru, Guru Arjan Dev ji collected the bani's of saints and gave respect to Adi Granth by displaying it on a higher platform than himself. Later, Guru Gobind Singh ji added the bani's of later Guru's, not his own to the Granth and gave it the status of living Guru.
When I went to south India to visit the 5th Takhat in Nanded, I was amazed to see Guru Gobind Singh jis female devotees in Banjara / Gypsy uniform praising him in their own language doing their traditional dance. I spoke to one of them and couldn't understand her language but gathered that they gave Guru Gobind singh ji the highest regard as their saviour. These were Guru Gobind Singh ji's allies.
So if Kabir Pathi's are Guru's friends, muslims consider Guru Nanak their pir and these gypsies are Guru Gobind Singh jigs allies then who are the enemies of Sikhs? Whoever they are, they can't be people interested in spirituality or humanity.

Third attempt - 10 days later
My friend who's father use to read Kabir ji's dohe was surprised that I even remember him doing so. She knew that he quoted them all the time but didn't recall him reciting them as daily practice. In the last fifteen years of his life, he did meditation. Interesting to note that my friend didn't count herself or her father as a follower of Kabir. This is the very issue historians mention with Sant Kabir ji's teachings. Even though he gave a very clear message that coincided with Guru Nanak's; his followers soon became unidentifiable and started considering themselves as a sect of hinduism whereas the followers of Guru Nanak were led by the following guru's who strengthened his message in peoples mind and finally made identifiable by Guru Gobind Singh ji's Khalsa uniform. Even though not everyone becomes khalsa, the sikh faith has an official physical appearance to identify them unlike Sant Kabir and other sant followers who defy idol worship and follow Guru Nanak's path. So understandably this is precisely why Hindu authorities are interested in eradicating the sikhs with khalsa appearance, so Sikh faith could be mingled into hinduism. In my mind if the government was fair, there is no need to eradicate any minority as they are never a threat to anyone. Minorities only ever stand against government when there are injustices to fight as their survival is endangered. So the real enemy of a Hindu state is not Sikhs but their own discrimination and injustices against sikhs and their land.

What tradition should be followed as far as Guru Granth Sahib's respect is concerned?
It should be what Guru Arjan Dev ji prescribed as the compiler of the original Adi Granth which included his own bani. So the traditions followed in Golden Temple Shri Harmandir Sahib Amritsar have to be followed. Do not turn the Granth into another idol and place Tilak/ bindi on it, Guru Arjan didn't do that.

Most importantly, on an individual level follow the messages written in the Granth. "Jo Gur Kahai, Soi Bhal Mano, Har Har Katha Nirali".

Meditation X - Navel is the core

Third chakra is two inches here or there from the navel. Focus on this point with each breath. Now squeeze the anus with each inbreath. Know that there is a front passage from navel to anus and one down the spine. Let the energy flow down from navel into both these passages with each inbreath and
Bring it back with each outbreath. Practice for 3-4 minutes.
Second stage - focus on the throat chakra and let the energy flow down both passages upto the navel and back.
Now focus on the navel and send the energy upwards to the throat with each inbreath, using both passages and with every second breath, send the energy down upto anus and back.
Remember navel is your core, connecting to navel is very important. It holds you together, so whenever you feel like everything is falling apart, come back to your core and everything will fall in place.

Soul's Integrity and God

"Integrity means much more than just honesty. The real test of integrity is to be honest even when no one is looking.' writes Vikas Swarup in his book The accidental apprentice. Integrity reflects a deep sense of right and wrong. It seems that we might be able to pin point todays world problems to this trait. History chapters reveal that people have attempted earlier to bring equality in this world by introducing communism or welfare system. It seems that neither have helped. Communism gives no incentive to those who wish to work harder and welfare system encourages people to cheat by showing lower income and appearing needy. Despite the faults in the mentioned systems, it can't be proven that economic systems promoting profit are healthy either. Earning super profits  might be justified in a democratic society on the basis of existing laws, like Bill Gates once said on Australian TV - don't blame me for paying lower taxes, blame the law. He laughed when he indicated to change the law to get more tax out of his company but who passes legislation, the politicians who relay on big businesses donations to win the elections/ How can they pass any taxes that will cut the pockets of those who supply the politicians/ You have seen the fate of an Australian PM who tried to tax mining industry's super profits. Defaming a pawn is not a difficult task for financially powerful. Neither is it too difficult to replace the seat with another pawn.

The issue I struggle with regarding super profits is that when one earns super profits, someone definitely loses, may it be the present employees or the next generation. It may be an issue of moral compass but that is something invisible like integrity. Like the the write further explains the dilemma of his character in the above mentioned book, 'There is no software, no device that can reveal a person's true feelings with hundred percent accuracy'. So we can't judge anyone without knowing all of their actions. They may be earning super profits and then giving back to the society in the form of charity, or free vaccination. We are not God, so we can't judge others.

Guru Nanak also tried to create a fairer society when he gave away free food for the first time in life and later when he bought land and allowed anyone to join him to farm it and shared the produce with all. The ideology behind Guru Nanak's actions, I believe, was that sunshine, air, water and land to produce food should be available to all and those who don't have the physical or mental capability should be supported by those who can. So he did believe in welfare state in one way but also believed in working to earn honestly. He didn't accept super profits as honest living as he believed in sharing equally with all workers and those that are incapable.

The software that reveals a person's true feelings is called the soul. Soul never lies, only our brain does. I had one such experience when I was forcing meditation upon myself to fulfil my goal of achieving enlightenment before I turned 40. The urgency was that if Guru Nanak was enlightened in his mid thirty, 33 years and six months precisely according to one source, Buddha was also younger than 40; then I must do it before my chakras naturally become too slow due to age factor and diminish my chances of succeeding in this life time, even though I started the journey late.

It had been at least a couple of years since I had been on this mission and I was getting impatient
with my progress when one day I heard in meditation, a voice said tomorrow is your day. I knew clearly it wasn't a voice of my own desire, I have heard a distinct voice before. I know when its my own and when its not. I got so excited as I understood my day means the day I will be revealed the secrets of the universe in a big way, much grander than the little bits of information I have received and the visions I have seen. Just then my soul spoke, 'but I am still greedy' and I heard my mind got agitated and growled at my soul, 'couldn't you keep quiet, you have lost my only chance that I so longed for.' Then my analytical self woke up and started making sense of it all and only got more confused. Which one of those voices was the real me, amazed at the fact that there is something within me that stopped me from achieving my goal by revealing a truth that I had hidden so well even from myself. I had truly believed that I was turning so spiritual then and was shocked at the revelation that I was greedy inside. It took me months to ponder over my life and work out why my soul believes I am still greedy.

One thing was clear from this experience that we can cheat the whole world in believing that we are nice but the soul has the integrity and alliance with God source within us that it never cheats, not even when your brain tells it to. That might be why they say, 'Sir dhar tali gali merit aao'. If you want to precede on the path of God / Truth / righteousness, then give up your brain and follow the heart and the Guru / inner guidance's teachings. It's not an easy path because the brain gets in the way, who by nature is competitive not fair.

Moments of wonder and awe can change your life

The nursery rhyme 'Twinkle 'Twinkle little star how I wonder what you are' expresses the feeling of wonder and awe and so does Guru Nanak's Japji Sahib. The wonder and awe expressed by Guru Nanak demonstrates that just like the little star spotted by the person who wrote it, Nanak saw light beings when he described
'Tithe Lowe lowe aakar,
jiv jiv hukum tive tiv kaar
vekhe vigee kar veechar,
Nanak katana Karra Saar.

Just like nature fills us with the feeling of awe, so does a great meditation session but only when we first have the desire to know the truth behind this universe, this existence and we are absorbed deeply in this contemplation. Imagine the twinkle twinkle rhyme being sung by someone in a social setting and the same by someone actually watching the star, absorbed in the awe and you will realise the difference between attending a religious session in the Temple, Gurdwara, church, mosque and a quiet meditation session at home. The point is to be absorbed in the moment with the feeling. Without the feeling, the words can't do much magic and those who haven't had any first hand experience will not understand the power of those words. So recite your scriptures only to gain inspiration and to go inside yourself and dig out that feeling of wonder and awe to experience something special.  Find time to have a conversation with the universe and believe that it will provide wisdom in the moment of silence.

Slowing down ageing

Focus on your temples and then on pineal gland. Make a V shape by focusing continuously between these points. Then I was making the energy go down the spine and come back up. I was trialling this without any intent and suddenly saw my date of birth being written and noticed that the year was 8 years later than my real birth year, I was surprised and wondered why it was wrong.

Later that day I stumbled upon a website that explained the symbol gamma which resembled the Y that I was making.   It said that time slows down in rockets and explained it why. http://www.sixtysymbols.com/videos/gamma_three.htm

So I understood that this might be a powerful meditation to slow down the ageing process.

Purpose of Meditation

As a child I use to think meditation is boring, you sit with your eyes closed, repeat a set of words and get bored. Then I realised that I actually need to listen to the sound my voice is making. Then I started noticing the effect of the vibration of the sound on my body and on the universe around me. Then I learnt to become one with the universe by listening to the universe.
At the very least, it heightens your listening ability. We have five senses and the first step is to expand the abilities of theses senses.
Creative Visualisation helps expand the ability to see. Feeling the wind touching your skin, expands your touch and feel sensations.
Focus on the air around your nose and try to smell. Smells connect us to our past emotions and awaken our past memories.
Taste is probably the last of the senses to work with and I haven't done that yet.
But is that it, is the purpose of meditation to heighten our senses and do magic using visualisation ? Some get stuck here and believe this to be the end purpose, to be able to mould the world around them to suit their dreams and ego. This is a big mistake. You have failed your first test, if you believe this to be the destination.
The destination is to know and meet the primal being, experience being invited by this being to enter his fort/ temple. This I have not experienced, so I can't say but Guru Nanak mentions the moment when he was invited by the primal being and Nanak says that in the state of estcasy, he felt no desire to ask for anything else but his presence. This seems to be a very different destination than visiting your own temple within your body that Christopher Peczard mentions in his book Temple of .....I have visited the temple within me and its a beautiful and unforgettable experience but it doesn't match the description given by Nanak.
Heightened awareness of senses will bring the ability of clairvoyance etc. These abilities are called riddi siddhi. They are the tools to help you move towards your goal to know the universe, not to manipulate it. Someone makes you a friend and shows their house to you, that doesn't mean that now you have the licence to alter anything or take away whatever you like from their house. Build the trust and a time will come when the friend will treat you like a member of the family, then you will have more rights but for now don't start using your abilities to manipulate the world for your benefit.
However, healing someone is not for your personal benefit, therefore if you are asked to help with healing someone and you have been given the light from your temples into your hands during meditation, then the universe is showing you the path of healing.
