In my opinion "HIK" does not mean Heart or Breath here. Here it is actually "hik du hik chareh" meaning "ik ton vadh ke ik" i.e. "one more than another"

AS a whole in this Shanth Baba Nanak praises the beloved ones of GOD, who have attained GOD and they are looking blissful one more than another and thinks how can GOD love me compared to those beautiful beloved ones and Baba Nanak yearns when will I attain that state of mind.
