Meditate on neutral space

Nityanada explained Energy, love, bliss and intelligence are one and the same thing.
Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZq6wK06tT8

When Consciousness is expressed through
your Head, its Intelligence
Your Heart, its Love
Your Being, its Energy
When it is there without moving, it is Bliss.
If you have intelligence without energy, its curse and dangerous.

I must be searching for bliss and in desperation I cry.

"Sit straight and inhale slowly and deeply
for 10 minutes, consciously drop your identity. You can't neutralise because you are afraid of loosing our identity. So take a break from your identity.
For 5 minutes Witness only the incoming breath flooding energy and bringing life throughout your body, to every cell.
Now forget the incoming breath, for a few minutes only witness the outgoing breath.
Now be aware of the gap, the neutral space, when incoming breath turns into outgoing breath.
Now be aware of both gaps- breath turning from down to up (Incoming to outgoing) and up to down (outgoing to incoming breath).
Witness as breath turns,
be aware of both neutral spaces and completely relaxed,
feel clearly you are flooding with energy, understanding and intelligence, you are in eternal bliss."

I have been practicing this without knowing and couldn't explain to my siblings how to feel nothingness.

Comments on this video are another asset. The latest comment is as follows
"One of my Gurus told me that this is the same technique Buddha use to gain enlightenment.
When I concentrate on inhalation, I feel the energy from my breath collect in my forehead.
As I exhale, I feel the energy cascade down my spine to the root center. When concentrating on exhale, I feel the energy in the root center pulled up as my breath comes in to the heart center. As I exhale, I feel the intelligence express through my crown center. This is truly an amazing technique."

Meditate on 3rd eye

Close eyes, relax
Be aware of the 3rd eye. Gaze at your 3rd eyes, be aware not focused. Inhale and exhale through the 3rd eye.
open eyes, look at the lamp and See as if you are looking through the 3rd eye

Visualise energy showing all over your body, from your 3rd eye.
Energy in the form of light showing from the top of the head, all over your body. You are being showered with bliss.

I like Nityabands way of helping one practice. Accompanying music is very peaceful.

I learn't the 1st three steps from Samuel Sagan's book and the last bit from a Kundalini yoga book. I look thro 3rd eye while eyes closed but I will now try with open eyes.

Lying to ourself, lost the truth

5 minutes - Think of how many times you have spoken a word knowing that you are not going to fulfill the promise.
5 min - visualise the spelling of this word
5 min - Feel the word
5 min - Let go of the feeling, just BE.

Transform yourself
Let life become free, liberated and a celebration.
Live with truth. Try to live the truth. Achieve and radiate.

Nityananda meaning Eternal Bliss. I like this meditation, yet would clarify that the path of yogi who goes to himalyas to meditate is not the approved Sikh way.

May you have intense experience with the God. You are pure consciousness and your life pure bliss.

Guru Gobind Singh's meditation technique taught to his wife

Looking at the tip of the nose
Breath in from the Navel
Hold
Bring the breath up to the Heart
Breath out of the 3rd eye

Maskeen explains the degree of spirituality required

Having the right goal is not sufficient. Maskeen explains that the water naturally flows downstream. To make water become steam and rise upwards, it must be not only heated but heated to a certain degree. In the same way, its not sufficient to have good intentions and do a little bit of meditation. To achieve spiritual powers one must meditate and make efforts of a certain kind and to a certain degree.

Attaining spiritual powers is not the goal of a true Sikh. Maskeen is only trying to explain that the effort must match the level of the goal. Also we must realise that a certain process brings a certain result. In my view, if the goal is to make the body fit, one can surely do yoga but if the goal is to find God then there must be love and there has to be a yearning to see, feel and understand God. Without this yearning breathing in a certain way and sitting in a particular yoga pose is merely a physical exercise.

To listen to Maskeen's talks see the website http://www.maskeensahib.com/

Four ages explained by Maskeen ji

According to Maskeen, a famous spiritual speaker, the four ages considered under Eastern philosophy can be explained not only in terms of Time but also in terms of a person's goal and ambition in a particular point in life.

Guru Nanak explains in 'Asa Di War'
Sat yuga rath santokh ka
Satyug is the truthful stage when contentment is prominent in life.

Maskeen explains that within one age, different people are in different stages. When the majority of population is in a particular stage, then that time can be classified as of that Age.

If the mission is to attain more wealth and the person is not satisfied with what material wealth he has, then he is living in the Kal yuga, the dark age. The Age that is run by falsehood and deceit. If the majority of people are living in this state of mind then its the age of Kalyuga. But while living in this age there are people who have a goal and motivation that coinsides with one of the other ages. Therefore they are living in a different age.

Maskeen also classifies a persons age into four stages. First stage is the unborn child in a womb, 2nd stage is childhood, then middle age and then old age.

Sikiwiki explains the following at http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Asa_di_Var

O Nanak, the soul of the body has one chariot and one charioteer.
In age after age they change; the spiritually wise understand this.
In the Golden Age of Sat Yuga, contentment was the chariot and righteousness the charioteer.
In the Silver Age of Traytaa Yuga, celibacy was the chariot and power the charioteer.
In the Brass Age of Dwaapar Yuga, penance was the chariot and truth the charioteer.
In the Iron Age of Kali Yuga, fire[unfulfilled desire] is the chariot and falsehood the charioteer. ||1||

Stages of devotion

Stage One - Tamas - ignorant style of devotion where devotee is neither Self nor Self aware. God who is known through blind belief is worshipped fearfully and slavishly. Such devotees are susceptible to superstitious beliefs in magic, ghosts, evil spirits, poltergeists, demons and devils.

Tamas, the dark energy, dictates a commitment to formula, ritual and literal interpretation of scriptures. The view of 'original sin' concept fits here. Ignorance loves organisation, cults and religious institutions. Beacuse thinking of oneself is considered a form of disobedience, the tamsic devotee is easily manipulated by corrupt priests and surrenders to powerful spiritual personalities. This is motivated by the belief in oneself as a helpless child of God.

Stage Two- Rajas - the projecting power, keeps the mind and emotions in a continous state of disturbance which functions as a screen concealing the self and blocking the flow of love from within. When rajasic devotee's needs are satisfied the world is a Garden of Eden and when unfulfilled, God often takes the blame.

This devotee's lust for life, ambition and sense of dissatisfaction stops the steady stream of love. On the positive side, the dissatisfaction can prompt one to enthusiastically purify tamasic elements.

The rajasic devotee is inclined to self centeredness and is not above bargaining with God for power, position and wealth. The theory of abundance of New Age circuit is made for this type of devotee, according to Swartz. "Unlike the steady dependability of the dark type, the active devotee will change religions, beliefs, teachers and practices at the drop of a hat. " says Swartz.

On the positive side, this devotee is passionate. Once committed to the higher view of God as the ultimate lover, the Rajasic devotee makes rapid progress in seeking union with God.

Stage Three - Sattva - With roots in the absolute, sattvic heart is a spotless mirror, capable of accurately reflecting God's image. This devotee is blessed with curosity, intelligence and discrimination; loves God purely and unselfishly.

"Because the veil separating the sattvic devotee from God is so thin, the devotee may become spiritually conceited and suffer attachment to goodness, beauty and knowledge, golden chains difficult to break if devotion is to flower into the fourth and highest stage." Swartz.

As Love for God grows, the desire to know more about God increases. As the knowledge of God grows, based on scriptures and direct experience, so does love of God because God's nature is eternal love.

The Goal

Even a glimpse of the stage of rati, a happy, selfless, blissful state arises, the devotee becomes quickly attached and purifies more diligently. Rati stage inspires intense faith, prompting a singleminded striving to enter into It. It is beyond meditative, concentrated, absorbed and practice induced state of mind. This seeing and enjoying the Self inspires divine madness. The devotee feels exhilarated and intoxicated as if she had won the lottery and fallen in love on the same day. I know this feeling and I yearn for that moment to come again and again but nothing happens like the first time.

When rati becomes deep and constant it is called prema, transcendental love. "Attaining It one becomes intoxicated, then silent, delighting in the Self" Narada Bhakti Sutra

"Gradually the feeling of mad love goes away, God doesn't seem an incredible being anymore, but a trusted companion. The devotee becomes aware of the deafening silence, a powerful presence that swallows every thought and feeling, engulfing every perception. Caught in the embrace of timeless love, mad passion becomes the white heat of meditation and the devotee sits quietly sippling the nectar flowing from the Heart of hearts. Absorbed in the Infinite, the patterns supporting the ego crumble, the mind disappears like a phantom and the soul, in primordial nakedness realizes onenes with the Self". p 149-50, Swartz.

Divine lover

"Although Love is formless and nameless but names can be used to cultivate devotion, which can be discarded at the advanced stages." James Swartsz in Meditation: an inquiry into the self, p. 130.

The desire for union is expressed as
The Slave(Dasya) - as we are not the masters of our destinies, feeling of powerlessness. This type of devotee shows loyality and respect; and develops a quiet mind to be able to distinguish God's voice from the self-serving ego voices of the mind.

The Wife (Kanta) - containing all expressions of love , desire for union and honor partners desires and obey and love beyond the grave.

The Friend (Meeta) - tender, joyful, playful relationship, desire to stay together, encouraging and supporting spiritual inclinations.

The passionate lover - In this style of love, all conventions, reservations, hesitations and personal views are cast aside. Read Guru Arjan Dev Ji's writings.

Forbidden Lover - The more love is obstructed, the more it intensifies. When a declaration of love would invite ridicule, condemnation and persecution, the devotee develops inner yearning, silent repetition of name and meditation, to protect their spirituality from possessive, insecure and jealous spouses.

The child - unsuspecting faith to love their parent, helpless, ignorant, dependent and attached but also vulnerable to exploitation and manipulation like the slave.

The Parent - forces the devotee to identify with the 'inner parent' who is caring, protective and nurtures with responsibility and love; and ready to make any sacrifices for the sake of God. According to Sawartz, this kind of devotion takes away mindless obedience, asking for favours of the Lord and complain about one's lot. Guru Gobind Singh ji had this kind of devotion as he never complained about his situation but took the responsibility to provide justice for all. The Khalsa created by the 10th Guru of Sikhs is to practice this kind of devotion.

Love is God and Gratitude the way to find it!

Make the whole day a meditation of awareness, using your breath to ground your attention. "Awareness is the bridge between mind and heart.", p 283, Love's Alchemy by Sky Shayne Innes. It transcends the conditioned mind.

Living the Truth - there are only two things in world Love and Fear. Love creates life and fear destroys it.

Love - harmony - accord - compassion - happiness - beauty - trust - abundance - acceptance - wholeness - interconnectedness -
Love supplies riches of life - wisdom, intelligence, beauty, happiness and prosperity.

Meditation is going beyond the conditioning of the mind where the mysteries of creation are revealed and true awareness is gained. Realise that you are not separate from God so there is nothing to fear. God is omnipotent. He is all there is. So you are part of him.

What we fear, we create. If we think we are separate, limited and powerless then we are. We have used our power to create separation.
Fear - disharmony - discord - hate - sadness - loneliness - suffering - conditioning of the mind - violence - resistance - struggle

Breath love into the heart center as if it were a smell.
Feeling the feelings with recognition and acceptance.

Identify with not 'I' of ego, mortal body that is limited, separated arrogant and ignorant. Identify with 'I' the infinite, higher consciousness, divine mind.

Realise
I have a body but I am not the body.
I have a mind but I am not the mind.

Desire
The truth be revealed and you will see and know 'The Truth'.

Meditate - in silence and stillness, one of the following
I am infinite
I am consciousness
I am divine mind

Now wait for the answer, for 10 minutes and then, be amazed! Show your gratitude for sharing the union and the knowledge.
Everything is already perfect the way it should be. See the divine order of all things. New growth comes out of the destructive forces of life, is necessary and not to be feared.

Music in the spirit world

Betty, the lady that died in hospital for a few hours and saw the many worlds, wrote about her experiences in the book 'Embraced by the light'.

She wrote in the chapter 'Many Worlds' that she remembered that God was the creator of many worlds, galaxies and realms beyond our understanding and had the desire to see them. This desire gave power to her thoughts and she drifted away from the garden into the blackness of space.

Betty mentions about the Music she heard when her spiritual body was floating with the two beings of light and entered the vastness of space realising that it wasn't a void. It was full of love and light, tangible presence of the spirit of God.

She wrote on p. 87, "I heard a soft, pleasant sound..It was a tone, similar to a note of music, but was universal and seemed to fill all the space around me. It was followed by another tone of a different pitch, soon I noticed something of a melody - a vast cosmic song that soothed and comforted me. The tones produced soft vibrations... possessed the power to heal me. I learned from the escorts that not all musical tones are healing - that some can create within us -ve emotional responses."

Guru Nanak wrote about the celestial music in the following manner

In the domain of Knowledge, Enlightenment reigns supreme
There the primordial sound plays the heavenly melodies

Where the innumerable melodies originate
Seemingly played by countless musicians
The countless "Ragas" sung by fairies
and other innumerable singers

Betty obviously didn't hear the singers singing, just the melodies of musical notes.

Betty further claims, "I traveled to many other worlds- earths like our own but more glorious and filled with loving, intelligent people. I traveled tremendous distances, knowing that the stars I saw were not visible from earth. I saw galaxies and traveled to them with ease and almost instantaneous speed. I knew that I had been to these places before."

Guru Nanak writes
Countless Indras, moons, Suns and countless the stellar and earthly regions

Countless orbs, regions and firmaments originate from there
Such an account is beyond description
Countless forms and worlds beyond worlds
All functioning as He ordains

Fruits of Faith and Naam (the word God) - Guru Nanak

Guru Nanak devoted Pauri 12 to 15 on the fruits of faith. In these Pauris, the word Manne is frequently used. It signifies mind (mun), contemplation (manan), obedience and belief (manne).

The lines Aisa Naam Niranjan Hoye, Je Ko Mann Jane Mann Koye are repeated at the end of pauri 12-15 and signify that the Word is God and is realized only by one's faith. *Niranjan literally means untainted. In this case, it would signify God without any form and attributes.

Manne Ki Gati Kahi Na Jaye
Je Ko Kahe Pichhe Pachtaye
Kagad Kalam Na Likhanhar
Manne Ka Bahi Karani Vichaar

Translation~~

Believers mind cannot be explained
Whoever does try, later repents
No paper, pen, nor the writer
Can sit and reflect on such a mind

Pauri - 13

Manne Surat Hove Man Budh
Manne Sagal Bhawan Ki Sudh
Manne Muhn Chotan Na Kahye
Manne Jum Ke Saath Na Jaye

Translation~~

Belief awakens the mind to higher consciousness
Contemplation unfolds the mysteries of the Cosmos
Obedience wards of all disgrace
Fear of death faith annihilates

Pauri - 14

Manne Marag Thak Na Paye
Manne Pat Siun Pargat Jaye
Manne Mag Na Chale Panth
Manne Dharam Seti Sanbandha

Translation~~

Obedience removes all hindrances from one's course
Gathering honor and distinction one treads on
Un-tempted by misleading ways
On righteous Dharma does one stay

Pauri - 15

Manne Pave Mokh Duar
Manne Parvare Saadhar
Manne Tare Tarey Guru Sikh
Manne Nanak Bhavahi Na Bhikh

Translation~~

Faith takes one to salvation door
Making one's fellow beings find evermore
Liberates oneself, leads other to follow
Says Nanak, no more the obedient begs

Praises of God - undescribable

Pauri 23

Salahi Salahi Eti Surti Na Payeea
Nadian Ate Vah Paveh Samund Na Janiah
Samund Sah Sultan Girha Seti Mal Dhan
Kiri Tul Na Hovani Je Tis Manhon Na Visre

Translation~~

Praise and adoration
Yet reveals not Thy infinite glory
Like streams and rivers upon merging
Know not the might of the Ocean
An emperor with treasurers and dominion
Vast like the Ocean
Is not equal to an ant
Whose heart retains the Love of God.

Pauri - 24

Ant Na Siphti Kahen Na Ant
Ant Na Karne Dein Na Ant
Ant Na Vekhan Sunan Na Ant
Ant Na Japey Kya Man Mant
Ant Na Japey Keeta Aakar
Ant Na Japey Paravaar

Bahuta Kahiye Bahuta Hoye
Vadda Sahib Uncha Thaun
Unche Ooper Unchan Naun
Evad Uncha Hove Koye
Tis Unche Ko Janne Soye
Jevad Aap Janne Aap Aap
Nanak Nadri Karmi Daat

Translation~~
Infinite His praises endless expressions
Infinite His creation boundless His gifts

A limitless sight with endless sound
Incomprehensible is what is in His mind

Unfathomable is the extent of His creation
Unknowable is the boundary

Millions have vexed to determine the extent
Yet the boundless has remained unfound
None knows the limits and extent
More we describe, more becomes unfound

Great is the Master exalted His abode
Higher than that is His exalted Name
Of that stature one has to be
To truly know how great is He
His majesty only He alone knows
Says Nanak
His Grace and Bounty is what we may know.

Explanation~~

Is God comprehensible? Can infinity be measured? Is there an end to what "is"? These and similar questions are posed by Guru Nanak in this Pauri. Attributing God as the greatest Master, placing him in the most exalted conceivable abode and declaring His Name to be Supreme, Guru Nanak affirms that to comprehend and to realize this, one has to raise one's stature to that level.

The closing line of the Pauri underlines the central idea. God is beyond comprehension.

Translation~~
One cannot record His abundant deeds
His benevolence has no iota of greed
Many valiant beg at His door
Uncountable remain many more

Many are consumed by evil deeds
Many negate after what they receive
Numerous fools obsessed with greed
Many remain afflicted with pain
This too is His divine plan
Liberation from bondage happens by His will

None can say more about this
Were a fool would otherwise say
Disgrace would only come his way
He alone knows what to dispense
Few only do yet confess
Whoever is bestowed by His grace divine
Says Nanak,
Surely is the king of kings.

Precious is to love and get absorbed

Perfect laws of the divine court
Flawless scales graceful judgment
Priceless blessings with Thy mark thereon
Measureless generosity profitable commands
Beyond expression is the invaluable manifestation
Leading towards Thy wondrous adoration

Vedas and scriptures dwell on this
The learned too converse about this
So say Brahma and Indra
As do the maidens and Krishna
Shiva and Shivaites say this too
The innumerable Buddhas have said too

Demons and Deities bow to Thee
Sages, men, saints and of service also adore Thee
Many have attempted to describe Thee
And many have yet failed in expressing Thee
If He were to create as many more
Inexpressible yet remain will He
Thou art as wondrous as it pleases Thee

Says Nanak, Thy greatness is only known to Thee
If anyone claims that God can be described
Then declare him to be stupid among fools.

What happens where God resides? Guru Nanak explains

So Dar Keha So Ghar Keha Jit Bah Sarab Sambhale

Where is that wondrous mansion and where the door
From whence Thou watch and sustain us all?
The element of wonder is vivid in this very line. Simply stated, it would mean to me as saying, "Where are you O Lord, where?" The remaining lines of the Pauri 27 seem to be an attempt to resolve this question.

The answer and explanation of such a place is as follows

Where the innumerable melodies originate
Seemingly played by countless musicians
The countless "Ragas" sung by fairies
and other innumerable singers

Air, Fire and Water all Thy adore
With "Dharamraj" singing at Thy door
Where praising Thee "Chitragupt" records all human actions
For "Dharamaraj" to administer heavenly justice

Where Shiva, Brahma and Parvati also sing
Adorned and graced by Thee they eternally are nice
"Indra" Lording on his throne also sings
With host of Devas around
The ascetics in their trance also sing
And the holy too singing Thee
Where the celibate, the virtuous and contented
All sing with valiant heroes
Vedic scholars and great sages
Exalt Thee with their praises
Where the bewitching maids too sing

In heaven, earth and nether regions!
All gems created by Thee
Also sing with the 68 holy pilgrimages
Where all valiant warriors sing
As do the four sources of creation
(Egg, Womb, Sweat and Seed)

All regions and the Cosmic spheres
For their sustenance they too Thy revere
All those sing to Thee who are graced by Thee
Immersed deeply in devotion to Thee
How many more sing are beyond my reckoning
Says, Nanak, I cannot even think

Eternal is God, The Lord of Universe
His Name being so ever True
He "is" and will ever be
The One who is the cause of all creation
Of diverse colors, hues and shades
creating even the "Maya" (illusion)

Having created He watches his handiwork
As pleasing to His grandeur
He does what pleases to Him
None can give any orders to Him
Says Nanak, O King of Kings
I shall forever remain in Thy Will.

Pauri 35

Countless Siddhas, Buddhas, Nathas and countless the forms of goddesses

With Ram inscribed in their hearts
There dwells Sita wedded to the Word Divine
Their exquisite graces are difficult to define
They neither die nor are enticed
In whose heart Ram resides

Devotees from all regions congregate there
Rapt in Bliss for their hearts are pure

Says Nanak
Harder than steel, it is to relate.

Purpose of a Yogi / True image of a Sikh

According to Guru Nanak, in verse 29, the sole purpose of a Yogi should be a communion with the Divine spirit and not to be engaged in acquiring occult powers to perform miracles.

Bhugat Gian Daiya Bhandaran
Ghat Ghat Vaje Naad
Aap Nath Nathi Sabh Ja Ki
Ridh Sidh Avra Saad
Sanjog Vijog Dui Kaar Chalavahi
Lekhe Avahi Bhaag

Make Divine knowledge as food and compassion thy steward
Taste the celestial melody that vibrates in the heart
He is the Lord who rules the whole universe
Miracles and occult powers are simply useless
Union and separation are the two wheels
That churn our share of destiny

Fear of Death as garment of thy chaste body
Determined faith thy sectarian staff
The only path is of universal brotherhood
Conquer the mind to conquer the world
Hail unto the Universal Lord
Primal, Pure and Eternal -Who forever is the same.

Explanation~~
In this Pauri, Guru Nanak redefines the persona of a Hindu yogi or a sanyasin. Even today the Hindu yogis wears ear-rings (munda), adorns the loin cloth (jholi), carries a begging bowl (khappar) and a staff (danda). He also smears himself with ashes (vibhuti).

Rebuilding the image of a "Sikh" (one who is in search of Truth) Yogi, Guru Nanak asserts that contentment, modesty, contemplation, fear of death and a determined faith are necessary ingredients that guide a person to understand the path of Universal brotherhood and love. Conquering one's mind (the oscillation of thoughts) and by becoming determined only one can conquer the world. For what is conquering the world, if not conquering oneself.

Guru Nanak's explanation of God

In Pauri 31, Guru Nanak asserts that God pervades in the entire universe that is his own creation. And this universe is real and not an illusion to be shunned. Jo Kich Paiya Su Eka Var clearly is the explanation that He created the Universe (the storehouse) in such a manner that in its own cyclic way, it is filled always with infinite bounties. This pauri also clarifies that the entire Universe is but the infinite form "Viraat Swarup" of God. http://forum.spiritualindia.org/japuji-sahibwith-meaning-t22915.0.html

Translation~~

He creates and beholds the view
Says Nanak
From Truth exists the creation True
Hail unto the Universal Lord
Primal, Pure and Eternal -Who forever is the same.

In Pauri 30 Guru Nanak clearing defining God as ONE only, explains in this Pauri that the Triad too is under the One Universal God - the Silent One, the Knowable yet Unknown. He touches upon the Hindu Trinity of Brahma (the Creator), Vishnu (the Sustainer) and Shiva (the Destroyer). The trinity also stands for the three Gunas (attributes) prevalent in the entire Cosmos; these being Sattva, Rajas and Tamas. In Hindu traditions, the Triad is worshipped as three individual Gods.

Guru Nanak and life after death

From last two days, I have been passionately reading the book "Embraced by the light." where Betty has explained what she saw in the spiritual world where God met her. The descriptions of people, the plants and flowers and the God himself are fascinating. These descriptions resemble what Guru Nanak described in Japji Sahib.

My little girl woke up and wanted milk just then. As I walked up to the kitchen in my sleep, these lines of Guru Nanak, describing the spiritual world, poped up in my head - Thithe Gharat Gariae Bahut Anup. There they design and build meserisingly beautiful things. In Betty's account of Different rooms she mentions how lots of people there were making different things. She also wrote that she realized that all things of importance were first created spiritually then physically. When Guru Nanak mentions things being created there, he must be referring to the same process that he saw.

All the verses in Japji Sahib that start with Tithe are a description of what Nanak saw in the mysterious world after death. Nanak mentions of not just God but other beings in there doing different things just like Betty's explanation.

I now wonder if Guru Nanak was disappointed with the politics of work where people kept dobbing him in. When he was checked by the supervisors the third time if he was measuring too much grain and his organization was at loss, although he was found not guity once again, he decided to leave his job. Resigning from a job at the age of 33 with two little children and a wife at home can't be easy. Did he actually go in the river with the frame of mind to ask the Divine what was God doing to protect the poor public from injustice and may be attempted to drown himself and was literally taken to this world that Betty is mentioning? Obviously, it wasn't his time to die and he was doing the right things by loving all and living by Truth that God was compelled to show him all what He does up there while also living within his creation. In Verse / Pauri 33 of Japji Sahib, Guru Nanak wrote we have no control over our life or death - Jor Na Jivan Maran Na Jor.

Aakhan Jor Chupey Nahi Jor
Jor Na Mangan Den Na Jor
Jor Na Jivan Maran Na Jor
Jor Na Raj Mal Man Sor
Jor Na Surti Giyan Vichar
Jor Na Jugati Chutte Sansar
Jis Hath Jor Kar Vekhey Soyee
Nanak Uttam Neech Na Koyee

Translation~~
Powerless are we to speak or remain silent
Powerless are we to receive or bestow
Life and Death is beyond our power
Neither riches nor mental turbulence is in our power
Awareness and awakening is not in our power
The path of liberation is also not in our power
Only God has power so He beholds
Says Nanak, in himself none is high or low

Explanation~~

In our day to day life, we are governed by our Ego and ever changing moods. This is so as we are bound by Time, Space and Causation. Yet, we in our ignorance feel that we have "power" to do this or do that and become boastful of our "power". This ignorance leads us to feel ourselves superior to others. In this Pauri, Guru Nanak categorically explains that nothing is in our power. And no one in himself is superior or inferior.

Guru Nanak came out and made the first statement "Na hum Hindu, Na hum Muslalman" Neither am I Hindu nor a Muslim. This definitely explain to me that he asked God why were these Muslim rulers cheating the Hindu public. He was merely trying to do his job diligently and not keep the poor people's share to make himself rich like other officials. Then he must have asked God if he was doing the right thing by doing justice to people of both faiths. God must have then shown him that in His realm, there is no religion but Love and Truth. Guru Nanak lived his life by both those traits. He had no hatred or bias for man of any religion which he declared in his statement that day.

While reading Betty's account I wondered if people's beliefs and expectations affect what and who people see in that mysterious world, to some extent? Betty mentions that she was surprised to see God as a separate being from Jesus, contrary to her belief that Jesus himself was God. But Jesus was very close to God as she herself is Christian. Guru Nanak mentioned many Hindu Gods and said there were many others like them some creating like Brahma, the God according to Hindu's that creates, many Sita and Ramas praising God, all obeying God's Will. Why didn't Guru Nanak say that the only way to God was through Jesus? Betty herself didn't had to see God through Jesus then why is she distorting the truth? In my meditations, Guru Nanak showed me the way to realise God as he is the one I trust. So may be its simply because Betty trusts Jesus that she saw him standing there next to God to convince her that she is at the right place! So whoever you remember as your God, Guide or Guru, he will be the one standing there confirming that it is the right door not because they are the one through which you must know God but they are the one that you trusted will show you the right way.

Betty saw a Council of 12 men who came to judge her. Gurbani says Panch Parvan Panch Pardhan. I may not know what this line actually referes to but since five comes so many times that I would have imagined that if there actually were more than one person, according to Hinduism at least Dharamraj who judges, then it would be the five accepted once that are the leaders (pardhan) not 12.

Below is the translation of verses around that line that God revealed in my head to contemplate. This translation is done by someone for people of Hindu faith as you will notice if you visit the actual site.

Explanation~~

In this Pauri, Guru Nanak establishes the concept of "Karmbhoomi". Man's very sojourn on Earth is one of action and experience. One has to justify his very existence on earth through faithful performance of duties assigned and march towards his onward spiritual journey. All actions will be judged is again meant to help us cultivate virtue and a persistent endeavor to win the Divine Grace.

Disease, Self-healing and understanding due to near-death experience

on p.64 Betty writes that she saw that many of her illnesses were caused by feeling of depression and not being loved, a self-fulfilling prophecy of "I am sick." Once we realise the illness, we need to start verbalising its cure, letting out words add to the power of our thoughts. This creates an excitement in the intelligences around us and they then go into motion to heal us. We are not to deny the presence of illness but its power over our divine right to remove it. We are to live by faith as its that what governs the spirit not the cognition of the analytical mind that rationalises and justifies. The spirit is emotional, accepting and internalizes. As with any other attribute, the way to gain faith is to practice its use. The spiritual law says if we learn to use what we have, we will receive more. Developing faith is like planting seeds. Spiritual law says that everything produces after its own kind.

The spirit communicates with God, being the device that receives knowledge and insight from Him. Betty says,"I envisioned that this would appear much like fluorescent light tube in our bodies. When the light is glowing, our core is filled with light and love; its the energy that gives the body life and power." Betty's explanation is clearly justifying the Kundalini theory where along the backbone is the sushmina tube which illuminates with light. Also when the pranic energy comes from the above, it also goes down the same path, only then the light flows like water gushing down. Both Kundalini and pranic, Earth and Sky energies fill the body with life and power.

Betty further says that lack of love, violence and sexual abuse weakens the spirit and then the body. Serving others recharges the spirit, opens ourselves to positive energy through positive thought and action. The source of energy is God and is always there, but we must tune him in.

Betty was surprised to know that most of us have chosen our illness for our spiritual growth. Until we grow, the healing doesn't come. Betty writes on p. 67, "We were very willing, even anxious as spirits to accept all of our ailments and accidents here to help better ourselves spiritually. The pain we suffer on earth is just a split second of consciousness in the spirit world and we are very willing to endure it. Our death is often also calculated to help us grow. I understood that it was important for me to accept all experiences as potentially good. I needed to accept my purpose and station in life." By forgiving her enemies and even loving them, Betty realised she could nullify the -ve effect on herself. By seeking good thoughts and good words she could bring healing ointment to her own soul and to others. She could heal herself but first spiritually, then emotionally, mentally and physically. Betty realised she had a right to live fully. To do this she needed to break the cycle of guilt and fear, let go of the past, forgive herself and move forward. "If I had hurt someone, I needed to start loving them honestly and seek their forgiveness. We must never consider suicide as its loosing opportunity to grow. Despair is never justified or needed as we are here to make mistakes and learn from our experiences. We don't need to judge ourselves harshly. All healing as well as misery comes from within. Our thoughts have tremendous power to make a spiral of despire or trempoline of happiness and attainment. The spiritual law says we will be given all that we are prepared to receive.

Time to reflect and contemplate important for healing

p. 262 "Measuring the immesurable"
p.169-70 Late in the 20th century, scientists documented that it's our heart not the mind, that produces the strongest electrical and magnetic fields in our body - ten times stronger electrically and 5000 times stronger magnetically than that of our brain! And it's these powerful fields that extend beyond our heart to influence the atoms of the world that surrounds us. So when we have a feeling, we're actually creating patterns of energy that interact with the very stuff that the universe is made of!

Message from a near-death experienced lady

"Embraced by the light" is a book written by Betty J. Eadie who died for two hours on operation theatre and was brought back to life. In those two hours she flew above her body, met three beings that came to escort her, visited God, saw Jesus Christ beside God and was shocked that he was very close to God but separate from him, contrary to her belief that Jesus himself was God. Betty asked God all the questions she wanted answered about life and death.
She met other spiritual beings who work in different rooms. The walls of the room made of a substance like a very thin marble that let light come in and in places Betty could see through to the outside. In one of the rooms some people loomed the spiritual shiny clothes of material that looked like the mixture of Glass and spun sugar. "The cloth shimmered and sparkled, almost as though it were alive. The material was opaque on one side, but when I turned it over I was able to see through it. The workers explained that the material would be made into clothing for those coming into the spirit world from earth." wrote Betty on p. 75. "I was surprised at how much people like to work with their hands there-those who want to." She also saw a large machine similar to a computer but much more elaborate and powerful.

She understood once again that all things of importance are created spiritually first and physically second. I suppose that why people who read Aura can tell things that you are going to feel emotionally a month or so ahead. I asked a man to read my aura on 3rd Sep, 2009. He told me there was a man standing on my right hand side. He was pulling me down. I couldn't understand this then. Over a month later, I knew exactly was this was about.

Interestingly Betty was taken to another large room similar to a library but of the mind. It seemed to be a repository of knowledge, but she didn't see any books. "By simply reflecting on a topic, all knowledge on that topic came to me." My personal understanding is that this is the Divine mind / Divine consciousness that I ask all the questions and get the answers from, in my deep meditation. As Betty has written, "No knowledge was kept from me and it was impossible not to understand correctly every thought, every statement, every particle of knowledge.", I personally believe that all you need to do in meditation is be passionate about the subject and reflect on it during meditation and answer will come to you. The only thing is that sometimes its in a code language that you can't understand. For example, I asked the Universal force to tell me how it runs this big universe with such precise events. It must have a formula to calculate and run. I got the answer 3 x 7. I am still trying to work out the answers. I understood it to be 3 as in inches. I also know 3 times 7 is 21 and that the minimum amount of days one needs to continuously practice something to form a habit of it, including Reiki practice. I drew a triangle with 21 inches from top to bottom and three inches on each side to make a 6 inches base. Is this the dimensions of the first triangle I had seen from the 3rd eye to the shoulder blades?

Back to Betty. She writes, "I understood reality pertaining to that subject from every angle, every possible perspective. This was more than a mental process. I was able to feel what the people felt when they performed these actions. I was able to live them."

Then Betty was taken out into the garden with mountains, valleys and rivers in the distance. The garden was filled with trees and flowers that somehow made their setting seem inevitable, as if they were meant to be exactly how and where they were. The billions of colours were intense and thousands of shades were possible. The light on these objects doesn't reflect off anything. It comes from within and appears to be a living essence. Bacause of each plant's intense aura of light, it was difficult to define where the surface starts and stops. Each microscopic part is made of its own intelligence and filled with its own life. "The same element that now resides in a flower may later be part of something else and just as alive. It doesn't have a spirit as we do, but it has intelligence and organization and can react to the will of God and other universal laws."

Music came from the water.

God listens and finds my lost property

I am so shocked. I have been looking for my passports for a week. I had searched the whole house as I was planning to do overseas travel next week. Since last week I have been looking for my passport and couldn't find it anywhere. I got my photos done for a new passport and found out that if I have wait for the new passport before I get the visas approved, I would be short of time.
My colleague, who I would never think would talk like this, suggested, "Why don't you sit in a quiet place and ask where the passports are."I told her that I have searched every possible place already. Also told her about the cleaner coming and cleaning things and throwing stuff etc. She clarified, "Don't ask your memory to tell you, trust the higher memory to help you." I couldn't believe this person was saying this. I am the one who usually believes in this stuff.

So I rung my husband and told him to not make a special trip today, although it was the curcial time to start applying for the new passport.

Last night and this morning, I did "Where is my passport?" meditation and visualised seeing the passport cover and photo of my two children. I couldn't remember my own passport photo. I visualise seeing three passports. I got the feeling that they were in the kitchen. I kept saying "but I never keep passports in the kitchen." Anyway at the end of meditation, I looked in the cupboard above the fridge, as I got the direction in meditation and there they were.

Biorhythm theory and three body clocks

I have heard of one body clock, but never knew about three. Physical cycle that controls the body is 23 days long, cycle of emotions 28 days long and the intellectual one for the mind takes 33 days. They all start the day we are born.
Each of the cycles looks like an S lying on its side showing each cycle eqyallu divided into good and bad days above and below a zero line, according to Douglas Colligan's book 'Strange energies, hidden powers',p 84.
In the 11 and half good days of physical body when you feel strong and energetic and do well in physical activities and other days feel tired, slower and sick.
In emotional body, 14 days a person feels cheerful and peppy and other 14 serious and depressed.
In the intellectual cycle, a person feels bright and alert during first 16 and half days but may have trouble learning and remembering things during the "down" days.
I am going to keep my own chart and see how it goes, as it might not be a regular s shape. When I asked the universal energy to tell me how it runs this world, it showed me a bouncing energy which picks itself up quicker than the s shape energy would. Each time the bounce was a little bigger than the previous bounce and the third bounce was too far away for me to see its falling side. I was only able to see 2 and half bounces. It felt that the falling was necessary to give the energy its next bigger boost. It wasn't rising and falling but rather travelling and trying to get somewhere, as if it had a mission, it knew of.
Colligan mentions on p 88, biorhythm experts warn "The more biorhythms cross the zero line on the same day, the more dangerous that day is." Rare and more dangerous are triple zero days when all three biorhythms cross at once. This will happen perhaps one time a year.

To chart your biorhythm, add up all the days of your life, from the day you were born up to and including the present. Then divide this total number by the three biorhythum numbers, 23 - Physical, 28 - Emotional, 33 - Mental.

Isn't this so peculier. I have mentioned these three bodies in an earlier blog "Four body system". They say that Emotional body is 9-inches beyond the physical body and mental body is 16-inches beyond the emotional body. The spiritual body is omnipresent. Doesn't then the longer rhythm of emotional and mental body make sense?

Anyway, calculate years 37 x 365 years = 13505
Add extra days for leap years = 10
(Leap years were 1972, 76, 80, 84, 88, 92, 96, 2000, 04, 08)
No. of days from last birthday, if any. I am calulating for my next birthday when I would have lived for 13515 days.

13515 / 23 = 587.6
587 complete physical cycles and 6 days left over.
13515 / 28 = 482. 6
482 complete emotional cycles and 6 days left over.
13515 / 33 = 409.5
409 complete metal cycles and 5 days left over.

On the complete cycle day, you are on a zero day. All cycle start by a going "up" first. So on my birthday, I will be energetic, happy and clever.

Three essential requirements in meditation

Guru Nanak says in Japji Sahib
Gaviye suniye man rakhiye bhao
Sing, listen and keep love in the heart.
Saying or singing his name - any name, He has many.
Listening to what you are saying for some time and then
listening without orally saying it. The vibration stays long after you have said it.
Feel love in the heart. Remember him from the heart, otherwise what you are doing is merely a physical and mental exercise not a spiritual practice.
The mental exercise is not successful either because
'Chupe chup na hovai je lai rahan liv Tar',
the mind can't stay quiet even when sitting in meditation pose. The thoughts come and go. The only way to stop those thoughts is to feel love in the heart.
What will happen then?
Gavai ko vehe hadra hadoor.
If someone sings his name in this way, he will
see God right then and there.
So its the feeling of love that God responds to. The singing and listening is to generate the feeling. So what are you doing when quiet in meditation? Feeling Love for God and the urge to see him. If you have other desires, hoping that you will be rewarded because you are sitting in meditation pose, nothing will happen. Even to get other rewards, you need to focus on one desire at a time. Feel how much you want it and pray while in meditation. Believe that true God has the power to give anything. If you have doubt that you are not worthy of it, it will not be given. Give yourself credit and believe that you are worthy of receiving what you are asking for and you shall receive.
Jo Mange Thakur Apne Te, Soi Soi Devai
Whatever you ask, He gives all that.

Sending Happiness Technique

This morning at the end of my meditation, I practiced sending happiness to others by feeling the ball of energy in between my hands and then blowing the feeling of happiness into the ball while thinking of the person I wanted to send it to, one by one, including myself. It worked. I am so happy and contented without an obvious cause. I am happy with my husband. Only a week ago, I was so critical of him. This feeling of happiness is definately not artifical.

After I read in Penkzac how to send healing to someone distant, I decided to try sending happiness as I didn't know of anyone who needs healing. I don't know how I could send it and then how could it be measured.

Red colour Symbolism in Spirituality

All this time I have been searching for the reason why Gurbani / Sikh scriptures, mention that those who are coloured in Red are fortunate.Lal Raang Tis Ko Laga, Jis Ke Vad Bhaga. Red colour is associated with root chakra and also with the Indian weddings but that doesn't explain its spiritual significance.
In alchemy, reddening symolises unification of man with god, unification of the limited with the unlimited. Source:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alchemy
This is a much more satisfactory answer.

Laws of mysticism

Law of Triplicity
"Things always happen in threes". Examples
The bouncing energy of universe that I saw also bounced three times. I had seen two bounces and it was heading to its third bounce. Note the word Omkar of Ek Omkar in Sikh religion and Om in Hindu religion.
The 3 worlds - Heaven, hell and earth.
Three levels of vibrations - Matter, Energy, Spirit

Law of Association
If two things have something in common, each can influence the other, more similarities, more influence. More generates more- money, love, crime, violence.
I see a lot of things common between humans and God.
Two subdivision of the above law are
Law of similarity - if two events are similar, the smaller event can be the cause of the larger event. Does getting Baptised or initiated be seen as having the basis in this law? I have mentioned in the blog titled "Out came a two edged sword from Gods mouth", that Sikhs use 2 edged sword for the initiation ceremony and also believe that without getting baptised one can't reach God.
Law of Contagion states that if two objects have touched, they continue to interact and influence each other.
I am very much interested in this law but not for the reason Penczak is writing about. In black magic, the reason why magicians ask for a lock of hair, piece of clothing etc for the intended target of a spell. Magick is sent via these connections to the intended recipient. Sikhism warns to not get involved in magic as in the end it doesn't benefit anyone. Guru Nanak Dev ji converted many magicians like Noorshah etc and empowered them to focus on meditation instead.
Gurbani says that by meditating you can benefit several generations including the past ones "Pitri hoi udharo". I always wondered how you could help ancestors benefit from your meditation. Is it by this law?
Are we connected to our brothers and sisters by this law? Whenever my middle sister faces any sad situation, I know. Whenever I have an unusual sensation /mystic experience when she is around, she says that she's having that kind of feeling, that I experienced. She doesn't see what I see and yet she feels the feeling I had.
Is that why Guru's use to give personal items like Kara to their Sikhs that they were really happy with? There is a story of Guru Gobind Singh ji giving his Kara to a Merchants son who didn't find any value of keeping it and gave it away to someone else, who by virtue of the Kara became rich instead of the merchants son.

Law of Symbolism - Symbols are the language of the psychic mind. Our conscious mind doesn't understand raw, pure energy. We need an interface, a translator, Symbols and words of power are often that interface. I have to agree that we don't always understand pure energy. I asked the universal energy for some answer and all I saw was circles with lots of people in them. The people were moving so fast, I couldn't see what was going on. This is after I requested the energy to slowly show me. I felt that they were like old English style paintings with lots of people in one painting and one can't make sense what's going on. Dream dictionaries are useful for that reason.

Law of Syncronicity - describes two meaningful coincidences that are not apparently linked through the principle of cause and effect. Penczak believes that syncrhromous events lead him to a greater spiritual awareness, lesson or mission in his life.By following the trail of Syn, one often finds his path.

Neutralization - We must take responsibility for our actions. Penczak says that we must change our learned behaviour by using affirmations or by actively deprogramming and reprogramming ourselves through neutralisation.
Penczak says that We can never take back anything we say. Once its out of our mouth, it is into the universe to hear and to react to unless we neutralise, Consciously send a thought out to ground and cleanse our previous actions, by saying I neutralise --- or imagining an X over an image you hold in your mind.
I remember once my dad had an argument with our neighbour over their barking dog. The next day we heard that this neighbour has been taken to the hospital after a heart attack. The moment my dad heard this, he jumped of his seat and said, "I have made a big mistake, I must take my words back." He went and did an ardas (Prayer) asking God to forgive him for thinking about the neighbour in this manner. He doesn't mean any harm and is sorry for the previous negative thoughts. The neighbour came home safe.
I read a book by some Swami called "The power of thought" when I was 17. First time, I was introduced to the idea that thoughts travel like radio signals etc and the benefits of positive thoughts. Its not always that negative words harm but thoughts do to. Imagine the state of this world today with constant -ve news.

Principle of Gender - Gender is in everything, everything has its masculine and feminine. For example, shape and contour, texture and colour, give us a sense of gender.

Principle of Rhythm - Energy has a range and it can flow from one extreme to the other. "Everything flows, out and in, everything has its tides,"All patterns move in a cycle. As energy moves from one pole to the next, it is actually tracing a circular movement, with its own schedule and pattern or tide." Be aware of the cycles within yourself as you have a greater control over your own rhythms. Take benefit of your own tide. This goes for meditation sessions.

Penczak says that Psychic ans astral abilities are easier to access at the Full Moon. You can control the rhythm of your brain wave, breath, pulse and heart rate by intention. The only time I intentionally increased my heart rate was when I saw the purple light and didn't want it to go away, so I intentionally generated interested and felt excited. During meditation, if you start to fell sleepy, you do intentionally awaken yourself a little.

Principle of Polarity - Everything is dual, has poles and its pair of opposites. Desirew to find harmony between the extremes. Two opposites are never absolute but relative.

Law of Vibration - Nothing rests, everything moves, vibrates, all the time.

Energy flows from tenth gate / seventh chakra

Vibration is all there is - EK OMKAR

In one of my meditations, I asked the universe to tell me how it operates. It showed me a bouncing energy. It showed me two and a half bounces. I tried to understand this and came to realise that the Ek Omkar as written by Guru Nanak is no decoration or artistic work. It is depicting that bouncing universal energy that Guru must have seen.

One of my friends who shares my date of birth had tried to commit suicide recently. I asked the universal energy to guide me how I can help him. On this, I saw a circle with several compartments like an old style irrigation water wheel.
Each compartment was a different colour and I received the message that its as easy as changing the focus of attention from one compartment to the other. I saw the same person sitting in each compartment, in different colours reflecting different moods. So the message is clear, God doesn't choose to leave you in misery, you choose to stay there.

Then I asked, How can I end the misery of poor people. On this, I saw a circle with lots of people in an organised circus play. Each person was stretching his hands and holding the feet of another person to connect, giving his feet for the next person to hold on to. There were 12 points on the circle with three people in one complete chain. They were all changing the places so quickly that in reality no one was on top or bottom. Everyone was contributing equally. They were too busy in the game, changing positions that no one was worrying and stopping would have ruined the rhythm of the circus. It felt right to not interfere but just enjoy it.

Three forms of Astral Projections

I have an interest in Astral travel as Guru Nanak Dev ji once astral travelled with the son of a Haji (Muslim leader)to show him other planets and solar systems with human life on them. This Haji had challenged Guru to prove what he says. Haji himself was scared to go with the Guru when the Guru offered him to come with him and see other planets with life on them, with his own eyes. My muslim friend once told me this story that I hadn't heard from Sikhs. She was surprised that I didn't know this story that is popular among muslims.

Psychic 101 website under training section mentions three forms of projection.

In the first you can look back and see your body. I have had this experience as shown in the picture. I also saw a yellow ball of sun glowing inside the head of the projected body. During this session I had also heard ringing of bells. I had this experience as I was meditating in the Sikh temple when there was no service on.

In the second you will not see the body but be aware of it, and experience some duality. I had this experience when I saw my future, old self taking me to show her house. In this I was aware of body walking behind this old self. I had this experience when I used the vippasana technique of focusing on the air in and around the nostrils.

After reading this I realised that I don't need to worry about astral travel as what I experience during meditation session is astral travel.

In the third form you will no longer be aware of the body. Your experience will be the most vivid only in this form you can project outside the solar system. I agree with the last statement completely. Therefore, don't try to go astral travelling, just try to have a great meditation session. Call upon your guide to help you understand God. Remember, the guide you call upon must be a SatGuru himself, an enlightened one who has seen, known and understood the formless himself. If you don't know of such a guide, just call Guru Nanak or ask the God himself to show you the right path.

Technique on astral projection by Robert Peterson:

Lay down, close your eyes, and relax completely. Imagine that you are separate from the body, and laying inside the body-shell. Imagine that your physical body is vibrating slowly, and your astral body is vibrating at a faster rate. Pretend you can both hear and feel the vibrations throughout your astral body as if you were standing in front of nine-foot speakers. Next, imagine the vibration of the astral body increases in pitch gradually, getting higher and higher. As the pitch gets higher, the two notes go out of sync and a certain resonance gets stronger and stronger.
Repeat this exercise several times. This simple exercise can actually produce the vibrations which can separate you from your body. It also might help to try to listen intently for any sounds "inside" your head at various points in the exercise.

Rehras- straight path to true self

Guru Nanak's writes in the question answer form.
Describing the door to lord's mansion from where he watches and sustains his creation -
Guru Nanak says

Vaje Tere Naad Anek Asankha,
Kete Tere Vavanhare ....
Countless strains of vibrations (Naad- essence of all sounds)are there, and many are the holders of those vibrations [ am I right?]. This corresponds with the vibration theory and the hearing of sounds like bells ringing in the solar plexus chakra etc mentioned in another blog.

Kete Tere Raag Pari Syon Kahian, Kete Tere Gavanhare
How many sing your raags (classical music) like fairies,
How many are singers of your praises [can't be counted!]

Gavan Tudhno Pavan, Pani, Baisantar, Gavai Raja Dharam dware
The wind, water and fire sing of you, a suggestion of five elements in the temple within, sing at the door of the divine's justice. I have already mentioned my inner temple as I saw, in the last blog.

Gavan Tudno Chitra-Gupat, Likh Janan, Likh Likh Daram Vichare
The secret image recorders (chitra-gupat) also sings of you. By recording they understand, by recording and recording the images they deliver justice. This corresponds with the Buddhist and Hindu philosophy. Vippasana meditation in which a person concentrates on the nostrils only, watching the coolness of breath, as if trying to smell really works and you see images of yourself doing things that you have done in the past except, you also notice the things like the furniture around you etc which you never noticed before, as it was part of daily life. Now you watch the same events as an outsider and the movie is much clearer like a full HD version.

One can also choose to see the future. In this case, you may not recognise these people of the same sex as yourself and you might mistaken them as other people. I made this mistake. When I saw this old lady coming back home from her morning walk, in front of me and said to me,"Let me show you the house." I only felt myself walking behind this old lady with long hair and a stick, I didn't see myself. I walked behind her on the front pathway, then she knocked on the door. I door opened and as I felt this old lady step in, I noticed another lady in her mid fifties standing near the door. I wondered where the children and the men were. It felt as if there were no lights on and house without many people. I asked why do you live here, as if I wanted them to be in the open, enjoying the sunlight and the fresh air. The middle aged lady replied but we each have a room to our self, meaning they felt secure in the house. To me they were secure but not enjoying the nature as much as they could. I was sorry for them, besides the fact that the double story brick house was expensive.

I asked my friend that has done a ten day vipassana course and she pointed out, Are you sure that these ladies were not you in different ages?" That's when I realised the old lady had exactly as long plat as mine, except she had shrunk in height a bit, which does happen in old age.

I saw my Inner Temple in meditation

I just randomly opened a page and came to p. 264, Penczak mentions what is in an inner temple.

I am so shocked. The huge empty water well with old bricks on the walls with green growth, with me sitting in the middle, on a flower with a long stem holding me, three weeks ago, just after I saw Buddha, was not a non-sense. It was my inner temple. I tried to look down, it was too far down, so I decided to not worry about down side. According to the author, I should have tried to go down. I did try, it was too dark, far down and so I felt scared and unsure.

In the next scene, I was in a cylinder shape huge new seven story building with the nice clean water falling from the top, as a main feature of the interior. Was it me, a 23 year old, lean young boy without the top on, in the middle floor of the building on one side watching the water fall and enjoying the trickling sound while meditating? In real life, I am much older.

I looked three stories up and saw the water coming down from the dome shaped roof of the building which was in the center, but around it there was just clear sky, no roof. I wondered what was holding the beautiful white dome. From around it I noticed the water was falling down.

I had the urge to see what was in the three stories below. I started to look and go down but it was too dark and far below, so I abandoned the plan. Instead I wondered that there must be rooms around here. So I went into one of the rooms. It was huge. Then I was meditating in this room and saw a big circle of flame. All the individual little flames within this circle were beautiful and perfect lotus petal shaped. The petals of flame were too many to count. Then the flames started to become little bigger and burn more like fire. I wondered if the flames could be dangerous, as they were all around and realised there was nothing to fear. They were beautiful and were in control, giving warmth. As I started worrying about the fire, the flames became bigger and uneven.
So in my inner temple, I saw the earth, water, sky, air and fire, all five elements. Three stories above and below make me sitting in the heart chakra.

Hang on, Is Golden Temple / Harmandir Sahib built by Guru Ramdas ji, based on his vision of his own inner temple? As mentioned by Penczak, everyone's inner temple is different. By God, I was inspired to build in real life what I saw in the meditation.

Another realisation, when I saw Guru Ramdas ji a week earlier, after he gave me a cloth as gift, I had requested him to show me what he saw, that inspired him to build Golden temple. As I heard from my parents, Golden temple is an exact image of the God's House. I have always been puzzled over it, as we Sikhs believe that God is omnipresent. So the God's house is one's own inner temple and Guru Ram Das ji built what he saw in his meditation.

I can't believe, it takes me so long to work things out. That day Ramdas ji started to take me towards a arch-like double door sized doorway leading downwards. I was puzzled as I was hoping to go upwards. The vision finished there.

After the session, I realised how dumb I was. Guru has always preached to become humble and built the Golden Temple some feet below the normal level to represent the humbleness, not higher. So I missed out on having a complete tour with him, because of my late realisation and questioning his way, when I stopped on the earthy doorway made with brick and mud. I didn't feel the concrete on the doorway wall, I smelt the muddy earthy smell. Also, now I understand why it wasn't golden and shiny. Off course, that's not how it was in his time. It was Maharaja Ranjit Singh who put Gold on the building not the Guru.

I only realise things much later but its Ok. Samuel has suggested to not try to interpret while you are having an experience. Enjoy the experience and interpret it later. That doesn't stop you from asking the questions to the Guru / Guide but don't stop the process to ask it. Be gentle while asking and don't doubt that its not what you want to see. Guides know what to show, we don't. We put our wrong expectations in front and then they can't help. I still love Guru Nanak dev ji. He didn't leave me when I told him that that wasn't what I wanted to see. Every time I think about it, it puts a smile on my face and I giggle. He scolded me and told me to be quiet and just enjoy the experience. Love you Guru Nanak, please scold me everyday when I interpret something wrong and drag me to the right direction. I don't want you to leave me if I question something. Please don't get offended. I am only trying to clarify things in my thick head. You know me anyway, what am I worried about. Guru Ramdas ji, please accept my apology, I didn't mean to be rude that day when I questioned everything you gave me and showed me. I am silly. Please help me get wiser!

Vibration and 'the word'

John i:1

"In the beginning was the word,
and the word was with God,
and the word was God".

Guru Nanak says Ek Onkar;
Ek (one) Akhar (word) Jo Gurmukh Japai, Tan ki Nirmal Soi.
In several of his hymns, he talks about one word and meditating on one word. Naam also has the same meaning here as Akhar, that is, word.

Science database confirmed that Sounds vibrate. Samuel Sagan mentions that vibration is a higher manifestation of the word (sound). So when you say a word, for example om or Vah-guru, feel the vibration. Hindu philosophy promotes that there is different word to vibrate each chakras. Samuel suggests to do bee-buzzing sound and feel the vibration in the third eye. I still don't know how to make bee-buzzing sound without using my tongue. That doesn't matter, I can feel the vibration with other words. As suggested somewhere, its not important what word you say, its important to feel the vibration of it, while meditating.

Christopher Penczak, mentions the 'Principle of Vibration' on p. 142 in his oddly titled book, "The inner temple of Witchcraft, magick, meditation and psychic meditation" which is mostly about meditation. This principle states, "Nothing rests, everything moves; everything vibrates [all the time]." As we now know that even solid matter, that look stationary are in fact tiny packers of empty space, where electrons are always moving, always rotating, always vibrating. He highlights that the Hermetic philosophers knew this thousands of years ago and science has just caught up and then wonders, "How did the philosophers know this without knowing about that atom?

Penczak says, "The power of the principal of vibrating comes from not only understanding that physical matter is always vibrating, but that everything is vibrating, even the nonphysical. In fact, the difference between matter, energy and spirit are different vibrations. Matter is a denser, more solid vibration than energy. Energy that can be physically recorded by machines is considered to be a denser vibration than spirit." He says, "as we are learning with quantum physics, we are more than our physical vibrations. We also contain energy and spiritual vibrations. p.142-43. Is this in tune with what Sikh Guru's say about this life being an opportunity to increase your vibration to become one with the spiritual energy or loose it and instead become a denser vibration. According to Sikhism, its only in the human life form that one gets the opportunity to consciously change one's vibration. And human life is attained after 84 million lifeforms, so don't loose this opportunity to speak the word, listen to its vibration, become one with it. This is the only purpose of human life, to become lighter vibration. Avar Kaaj Tere Kitte Na Kaam;

Penczak acknowledges that mystics from many traditions talk about vibration and increasing your vibration to a more spiritual level. Sikhs do this by singing virtues of the formless God. Similar to "I am " affirmations, I believe by repeating and focusing on God's virtues, one acquires them.

Penczak says that you can consciously control your vibration, simply by knowing your intent. Think of a quality that you wish to possess or use affirmations to change your vibration. I like how he writes "Think of an energy you wish to contact example, total health, prosperity, unconditional love, inspiration, a place, planet, colour or any of the four elements. Choose one that speaks to you. He signifies that these energies are living with a signal that you can tune into. My dad use to talk like this. He use to give the example of various radio channels being out there, all broadcasting but you can only hear the one you tune into. So when you think life is tough and unfair to you, may be you need to consciously change the channel you have been listening to. If you want to know some secret of the universal energy, simply try tuning into that channel. When in deep meditation, trance state, enjoying the peace, quietly feel the question you want the answer to, universe responds instantly. You will be shown the truth of the matter that is bothering you.

The above also applies to justify why and how are we able to see, hear and meet people who lived here hundreds of years ago, the spiritual guides. They are living in a different frequency, when you tune into it, you see and hear them. The meeting is not fake imagination of your mind. As Mayans believe, in reality, there is no past, present and future. The time is always now, just different frequencies. This means that those who lived as humans are still there somewhere in a different frequency depending on their Karma/ deeds. They are contactable, you simply need to tune into their frequency. Don't be surprised when you meet all these so called gods / deities in your deep meditation, all it means that in their human form they had vibrated on this frequency you are at. No matter what religion acknowledges the existence of these so called Gods, Godesses or saints, don't be hostile and they will offer their wisdom and their gifts to you. There are many more, that you don't even know of. But don't make the mistake of acknowledging them as the ultimate God. The supreme one is formless intelligent energy. All the others have acquired status and powers from the ONE.

Arti prayer says, "Panche Shabad ... Anahad Baje" Anahad shabad is a vibration whose source is not outside our body. Panch is five. Does this imply that the five elements that our body is made of have a vibration of their own? In that case what was the heartbeat like sound? Which element it corresponds to? If the sounds correspond to the chakras then they are seven. I know the Solar Plexus has the sound of ringing bells. I have heard it twice. Then what are the other three sounds?

Ghar Subhage, Shabad Vaje
Fortunate are the bodies in which the word vibrates. So practice uttering any sound, and hear its vibration.

Out went a two edged-sword from Gods mouth?

In February this year, some so called saint, we have plenty of these in Sikhism, came to the local Sikh temple. At that time, I had some magnificent experiences during meditation, and I was looking for a physical guide who could help me advance in experiencing God, first hand. I figured out that he didn't have any such experiences and couldn't help me. I was very upset with the Sikhs as no sikh had told me anything about the intense vibration in the whole body with a loud heartbeat like sound, the etheric separating itself from the physical body and the flow of white energy from above my head, like someone had suddenly turned a 4 inch thick tap on full flow. Although, I had eventually enjoyed the experience, I was scared initially. I wondered if any sikhs could guide me with regards to what else is yet to come, so I am not taken by surprise and try to make the most of the experience.

I was disappointed with the Saint and realised that I was on my own, in this journey. So I searched the web and whatever relevant books I could find. I must admit that I had read about the visualisation about colours sprinkling and then it raining above me in the Kundalini yoga book.
At the time of my experience, I had casually started the meditation and had successfully visualised the colours and the raining before I got bombarded with the vibration and the flooding of the energy from above. Sikhs do not believe in these kind of preconceived meditations.

Anyway, my quest at the time was about 'the word'. I had read in "Awakening the 3rd eye/ Samuel Sagan", the quote from John i:1

"In the beginning was the word,
and the word was with God,
and the word was God".

I was so excited about this concept that I actually failed to properly read the very next quote in the book from Revelation i:16, which I have just read now,

"And he had in his right hand seven stars;
and out of his mouth went
a sharp two-edged sword"

See the middle peice in the photo is a double edged sword

I would like to confess that by just reading the bit about 'sharp two edged sword' from a Christan source, I am gobsmacked and ashamed that I am one of those who sometimes doubt Guru Gobind Singh Ji's actions and whether they had anything to do with spirituality or they were purely for making a clear demarcation between a Sikh and a Hindu, as there are overlapping concepts in the two religions. And did I just criticised the sikhs for not knowing anything? Ommmm! May be I just need to learn more about them.

In my last blog, which I started to write about "the word" and ended up writing about Spiritual Guides, I have already mentioned about the iron Kara that Guru Gobind Singh ji asked his Sikhs to always wear on their right hand. Iron guards us against evil energies. We also wear Kirpan (an iron dagger). My best friend ( a muslim girl) had once told me about the iron as a protector, when I was questioning why we need to wear these items.

When Sikhs get initiated, a sharp two edged sword is used to move the water in an iron dish, with five Sikhs holding this special sword with their right hand, reciting five daily prayers (Nitnam).

If anyone ever had any doubt about this Khanda-Bata Amrit-Chak ceremony, even after getting initiated and feeling that charge in one's body that one had never felt before this ceremony, then they need to read this quote from the Revelation i:16.

Coincidentally, how funny is it that this revelation is talking about seven stars and the revelation number is 1+6 = 7 according to numerology.

I have a long way to go baby! I am a confused soul, but I am searching! I am getting wiser by the day. "Hum Jaise Apradhi Awar Koi Rakhe, Jaise hum Satgur Rakh liye Chadai." Could any other entity protect a sinner like me, the way my true guru has? I keep doubting his powers and knowledge and He still keeps on showing the way. How could I ever thank my Guru enough.
